Hey, My consultant wants to put me on Zoladex monthly injection until my next op to try and reduce the endo getting worse. Im told it basically shuts my ovaries down (temporarily) so my cycles will stop. Quite similar to menopause and symptoms. HRT alongside it has been recommended also.
Was hoping to hear about other experiences of this injection?
Thank you!!

I’ve just started my 5th course, purely because there’s a very high risk I may end up with a colostomy bag!
In my opinion it’s not too bad, but i wouldn’t say it works amazingly for me or at all! But it’s worth a shot this time so I don’t hopefully end up with a colostomy!
Thanks so much for your reply. My endo is around my bowel and probably early stage 4 so I guess thats probably why my consultant keen for it. As you say, the alternative is alot worse so better to suck up the injection....
That’s it, there’s no choice! It’s better than the alternative! I have an ovary, that’s adhered to the bowel, that has DIE, and it’s infected! And there’s a risk, if they don’t manage to clear all infection, when they pull it off, I will be left with a hole in my bowel so big I will have no choice but a colostomy! I mean, Zoladex might not do anything, and they haven’t decided how they’re going to clear the infection, but at this point anything worth a go 🤣 xx
I took zoladex and HRT for five months prior to my last Lap in November, for pain management. Once the amount of HRT needed had been properly worked out the injection worked quite well, I can’t recall having any drastic side effects.
