So, after ending up in hospital with Sepsis back in November, of unknown cause, I’m still no further in finding out what is wrong! I am a ‘complex’ case of stage 4 endometriosis, and have been on follow-up for 4+ years.. I have had one excision surgery but I don’t think I’m a candidate for further surgery, definitely not repeated surgeries! I have Endometriosis on ultrasound and MRI! A few 1cm nodules, I think, but don’t quote me, behind my womb. Possibly, a fibroid, around 1cm, but what landed me in hospital was an ovarian mass that had abscessed!.. So now my abscess is somewhat cleared, the mass has shrunken, but it’s now considered a ‘very’ complex cyst/mass! I overheard the sonographer talking to the Drs describing very thick walls! That’s all I know... Tumour markers are now being run.......
So, I found out, during my 4 years of follow up, a cyst was noted on this ovary back in 2019, it was not monitored, and I told my consultant back in early 2020 at my last face to face there was something there..... It was ignored.
So.. Has anyone ever had a ‘very’ complex cyst/mass and what was your outcome? I do know endometriosis increases the risk for ovarian cancer!

Hey, not sure if it’s the same, but I had a ultrasound & results came back as a suspicious cyst, which needed a urgent mri & bloods. Markers came back slightly high but mri showed it was an endometromia but at the time I was terrified and doctors couldn’t say that it wasn’t anything bad x
Mines a very odd story.. I was admitted as an emergency as was septic! Given an ultrasound first, then an MRI, that both shown a ‘complex’ mass that had abscessed! I was subsequently discharged after 4 days of IV antibiotics, given antibiotics and told I needed to be rescanned in 6 weeks! I decided to stay under my consultant at another hospital! I got fobbed off for 10 whole weeks! Then my pain come back and I thought the abscess had, but got refused antibiotics and told I didn’t have a mass.. (saw one of his useless colleagues a week earlier). Anyway, I forced them to refer me onto gynaecology assessment unit for hot patients (it’s like A & E but for gynaecology). I had bloods, swabs, and although she couldn’t feel my mass, thankfully, sent me for an ultrasound, (Friday just gone) which has shown a ‘very’ complex mass now! All I know is I’ve been referred to MDT and tumour markers are being taken from bloods! I have no idea how this is going to go! I’ve been fighting the NHS 10 weeks so far! Turns out I’m so complex, no Dr wants to deal with me! But hopefully it will be fine! It’ll just be Endo!
Currently going through the exact same process, been booked for an urgent mri scans after having an urgent ultrasound, my tumor markers have come back quite high.. been through this process once before, turned out i had a rare benign tumor. I have endometriosis too. Fingers crossed for you x
