Thanks for sharing your story. I should say that the thing which bothered me a lot were hidden prices within repro clinics. At ours, bio texcom, they have all fees written down into their contracts. You just have to read attentively. Moreover you're sure this is the cap. I also liked the approach itself. They warn their IP to follow all doctor's instructions according to the treatment protocol. IP shouldn't hasten the process. They must avoid any kind of self-treatment. They must stick to the stimulation protocol and dates for the ultrasounds. Otherwise IP can be even charged by penalty! I personally understand it like med staff wants to make it a win-win plan. That's why there are such strict rules. Yet another one, for ex. The ultrasound check reports have to be sent to the manager the day they are appointed. If the ultrasound check report is not sent on the proper date the program is suspended. As a result, IP' line position is moved to the last place. (Concerning IP on ovarian stimulation) Violating of the doctor’s instructions and protocol by IP can lead to contract termination. Moreover, without possible refund. So just be attentive while doing research on IVF..

Good luck to you, hun. Surrogacy gives opportunities to everyone. My personal opinion is that surrogacy is an incredible process. It has the ultimate power to create a family. It’s a safe, successful, and enriching experience for both IP and the surrogate. For various reasons, couples or individuals may not be able to have children on their own. This is a difficult problem to face. Whatever obstacle IP may face on the journey, with the help of a surrogate and/or an egg donor/ donor's mitochondria (the new method Biotexcom clinic has recently introduced to its patients), anyone can have a child! Surrogacy allows many IP to share a genetic tie with the baby. And it can lead to a lifelong relationship between all the parties involved. Moreover surrogacy is thought to be a better option than other fertility treatments. Depending on the various programs, surrogacy costs do vary extremelly. Just like the surrogacy law conditions. I believe, surrogates choose to carry other people’s children because they value life and the power of family. You would need to look for surrogacy law within countries where it's legal. Ukraine, unfortunately, can't be the variant, because under law, only legally married heterosexual couples can apply for surrogacy there. Search for options, good luck!

In brief, surrogacy process in Ukraine goes on like this: Initial consultation. It usually contains the following activities: A set of tests depending on the program (fasting is mandatory). Consultation with a fertility specialist who will be in charge of your program (in case of stimulation you will need to have the transvaginal ultrasound check done). Consultation with a manager who will guide you through the program step by step. Signing of contracts. Before any initial consultation you will receive the Guidelines for the Initial Consultation – failure to follow these recommendations may affect the initial consultation in a negative way. Search & confirmation of a surrogate mother, matching process. Waiting time depends on the type of contact. Stimulation & synchronisation stage (about 2 weeks). The cycle of egg donor or the biological mother is synchronised with the cycle of a surrogate mother. According to your contract you have to follow all doctors instruction. In case of self-treatment or violation of the treatment protocol, the clinic may cancel the cycle and terminate the contract. Fertilization day, embryo transfer – the 2nd visit. In case the biological mother undergoes hormonal stimulation and is being prepared for egg retrieval, the second visit may take up to 10 days. If we are talking about surrogacy using own eggs it is not recommended to leave the same day. Flying the following day is fine.The rules for sperm donation are similar as for the initial consultation – a man needs to abstain from ejaculation from 3 to 5 days before. After fertilisation the embryo development is monitored by embryology unit. The embryo transfer takes place on the 5th day. You will receive the protocol of embryo cultivation and transfer within 3 working days after the embryo transfer. HCG test, pregnancy confirmation. The first ultrasound scan is carried out in 2 weeks after the positive HCG test by the doctor in charge of the program. The report will be send the same or the next day after the check. Pregnancy monitoring. Delivery. Obtaining of the birth certificate for the baby (up to 1 week)''
There are so many options. But some of them are very sketchy. We can definitely read some horror surrogacy stories happened in Thailand and India. After much gleaning in forums, it becomes clear that Ukraine may be the choice. First, it is relatively affordable. With the research done, with all-inclusive plans starting at 40k up to 60k. They cover absolutely everything outside the plane tickets. Also meds and all things that involve IVF for you if you are using your own eggs. Surrogate screening and medical costs. Birth at the hospital. It is also the same price if you choose to use donor eggs instead, which is a nice back-up plan to have if things don’t work out with your own. The strongest side is that, for instance, one of the clinics there guarantees you a baby. In case the first surrogate doesn’t work out, they will try again with another one using your frozen embryos until they are successful. Also, it seems like Ukraine is one of the few places where the laws favour the intended parents rather than the surrogate. Here is what I read. Under Ukrainian law, the baby is yours from the moment of conception. Once the baby is born, the birth certificate is issued with your names and the surrogate cannot claim any rights. Lastly, this is going to be time-wise. Pregnancy usually starts right after embryos are created because many women participate in surrogacy in Ukraine.
I'm glad to have read your story. This is exactly I've just advised to the former writer. I believe it's always better to be honest about the birth issues with our kids. I myself used surrogacy. Managed to produce some good eggs for fertilization. Our sweet surro delivered last year. Since that moment we both decided we'd be honest /open with our DS. We underwent surrogacy in Ukraine, BTC too. The law there, as you know, is surrogacy friendly. It favors the IP more than the surrogates. The first time we met our surro was at the 12 wks scan. Since then we'd made close friends with her. Not the part of the family, surely, but a really close person in our life. She's been always nice. She speaks English a bit, so we could even ''chat'' about how our LO is doing inside. She tried to get us much involved into the process. we're so thankful for this. The whole experience is priceless.
I myself passed surrogacy in BTC, Ukraine. Just trying to be helpful. In case you look for any other clinic in Ukraine here are the things to consider: #1 English is not widely spoken in the Ukraine. This can make it difficult for the IP to navigate their way through all aspects of the journey. It can also make for a very complicated journey legally, where all correspondence,documents and agreements have to be translated through a professional service. It is advisable to get an English speaking lawyer in Ukraine to represent you. (Unless the service is included into the package price). #2 It is important that the intended parent's name, particularly the intended mother's name, is exactly the same on both passport and marriage certificates. Any discrepancy can lead to time delays as translation, notarisation and apostillization of the documents will be required. # 3 Some medical institutions request that intended parents 'shall not submit any legal claims against the institution for any reason'. This contradicts the civil procedural code of Ukraine! Namely, the individuals right to defend his or her interests in court and is something that should concern you. #4 In total you can expect to pay about €45k for a surrogacy arrangement in Ukraine. This may or may not include a guaranteed take home baby package (Which will cover the cost of all the IVF attempts until you achieve a pregnancy.) You should also budget for flights and general living expenses, taking into account that you may have to stay there for up to 6 weeks post birth (if it's not included into the package price).
