I am frustrated with Mirena After insertion it took about 10 months for not to have any discharge. Then I was almost pain free. I became cautious but hopeful. It was great that my kidsstop noticing that I am in pain or spending sunny days on the couch. But after a short break everything came back again. 13 months after insertion I am having pains again. Every day. Not very strong to take any medication, but ones that makes me think if I will be able to walk my dog normally or I should skip the walk all together. Or just seat a little bit so pain goes away. But it seems like constant pain. Also I had a period....very strange one though. It feels like all my hopes were crashed again. Have any of you experience smth like that while being on Mirena, some kind of lapses how it works.

Sorry to hear this has happened to you. I would suggest speaking with your Dr to see if your Mirena has moved! Reason I say this I have one, I’ve previously expelled 2 in an year had this one inserted in hospital, after a procedure in 2019. I’ve been having awful periods for the last year lasting 2 months and heavy and prolonged bleeds clots. Dr arranged a scan at the hospital as I said I had no quality of life and could barely look after myself and I have two young children. I’ve had Mirena before successfully full duration and no periods which was bliss! Ultrasound couldn’t locate Mirena! Consultant did a scan was sure it had moved so sent me for an X-ray same day. My Mirena had migrated into my C-Section scar from 2017. Consultant said they thought this is why periods so bad possibly hormones not directed in right area. I’m on waiting list for a MRI now to find exact location and potential surgical removal unless it’s migrated again referral was made 9th December 2020, checked with my Drs and they haven’t had confirmation from hospital it’s been cancelled due to pandemic as it had been recommended by Radiology for next steps.
I really hope you get some resolution but do ask for a scan or if they can check if it’s in position. I’m not saying it’s the same but worth investigating at very least.
Hi i would also say it get checked to make sure its in the right position. I had mine in for over a year and was definitely there as had a scan and a couple of months later pain started and coil had come out without me knowing.
