Hello, I'm new on here so I'm not sure how this works. I was officially diagnosed with Endo last July, had a laparoscopy then the coil fitted, which didn't work, so was offered the Decapeptyl injections to suppress my ovaries. I had the first one exactly a month ago but nothing seems to have happened, I had no "overdrive" of hormones or anything, and I've had about two hot flushes overall. I was given add back HRT to take but I'm not sure I need to take them as I don't feel any different? How was everyone's experience with Decapeptyl? Any help on this would be appreciated

Decapeptyl and add on HRT help
Hi there, I was on decapeptal for nearly a year but didn't start feeling the need to take hrt until into the 2nd month. My hormones went crazy, filled me with rage and was ready to kill my partner everytime he opened his mouth😂 poor guy. I started getting very restless legs at night, hot flushes, and could not sleep. After talking to my consultant he told me to start taking hrt and I would feel the benefit. He said that woman who generally go through the menopause loose bone density and age quicker when not taking the hormone, due to the loss of it in the body. So I thought since I already look good for my age, I don't want to look 10 years older than I already am lol . My mum never took hrt and she looks 10 years older than she should. All I will say is I'm glad I started taking it so I recommend it.
Hi my first injection did not work still had a period, second one worked, had add back HRT. Now with minor pains no periods and a good rest from it. Was the most positive thing I’ve done. Later on I have had cream due to dryness . I had had hot flushes but in the evening but not as bad as I thought.
Hi, I've been on decapeptyl for almost 8months, I found it didnt really work till 2nd-3rd month, I started taking the HRT 4months after as I just couldn't cope with the hot flushes and my specialist said to start taking after 6 months anyway due to losing bone density, I know after uve been on it for 1 year u need to ask for a bone density test, I can say it's been the best thing for me (and I've tried lots!!) Now waiting for a hysterectomy but dont know when that will happen now due to covid19! Good luck and hope it helps u too xx
Thank you for replying! I'll definitely start the add back within the next month then. Ah I didn't know about the bone density test, I will definitely ask for that! It has definitely helped me so far pain wise, so so far so good! Good luck with your hysterectomy, I'd love to have one but I understand I'm far too young! Hopefully it will happen soon for you!
Sorry to jump on this feed but hopefully you guys can help? I had my first of 3 injections on Monday 8th but today I have very severe hip pain 😔 did you experience anything like this and do you think it will ease off in a day or two? X
