Absolutely loving life at the moment! Something I was so nervous I would never experience again. Was told Id never walk again to walking straight and pain free im ever so grateful! I just hope endo no longer wants to be my friend. Im so hopeful and see a great future... something I couldn't see past a few weeks back! One thing ive learnt to appreciate and embrace life ... this may not last forever but im going to enjoy every second whilst i can!

That is amazing for you!!! Pleased for you & can only imagine how this feels.Did you have an open hysterectomy or vaginally?

How did you feel after it?

I am asking as this is my last option xx

I had open hysterectomy. I was very anxious and the thoughtis a lot to process in the first few days but literally as soon as i was up and walking felt so free and pain meds dropped. The op was nothing to the pain I was in! What are you having done?

That’s great. I have had 1 laparoscopy, 1 endometrial ablation. Going to try the decaptyl injection next, I can’t stop bleeding and it’s been like this for over a year. I am shattered from it all. If the injection doesn’t work I was told a hysterectomy but they would leave my ovaries in so I don’t go through the menopause x

Oh i see have you been put on tranexamic and mefenamic acid? That calmed down my bleeding but not the pain. A year is a very long time i bet your iron is all over the place too! I hope the injections work 🤞everyone is different.I have had a radical hysterectomy but I think I was perimenipausal as I had hot flushes in my 20's ive had no hot flushes or anything yet since my ovaries have been removed... unless they come later 🤣 i will soon find out! Wishing you all the best x

Hi,

I just wanted to say I can share to a degree, I had excision surgery 4 months ago and wow. So just wanted to say like you there is light at the end of this dark and twisty tunnel.

I wish you all the best going forward and hope you get a decent amount of time pain free.

Xx

Hi,I am pleased for you.

When was the Hysto?

About half the women I know who had Hysto with or without Endo had other issue's in the following years, including Endo back, different pains, bladder issues and parts of Hysto having to be redone where the sling failed and had bowel prolapse.

I am very keen to understand where your Endo was and the Staging? Are you on any drugs now?

With my Endo I was told the Hysto would be too difficult as I would lose my bladder and possibly part of my bowel. I don't think I could be that brave to chance mine!

You must be so pleased! Please keep me informed.

Thanks for that story.

❤️

Hi i had a radical 2 endometriomas on my ovaries, a mass in my abdominal wall, a mass on my bowel. My uterus was covered as was my right ovary and my fallopian tube was tangled up with an adsion so it was twisted hence why I couldn't walk. So i think instict kicked in. Yes I got told my bladder was damaged but all scans on bladder side of things were ok obviously when they went in my uterus was bulky through to my bladder. So again in my case I went with my gut feeling. I was on a ridiculous amount of meds you name I was on it short tec, long tec, naproxen, pregabalin (losds more pill taking took over my life!)but now only taking hrt and bowel stuff while stitches heal. I am coming up to 3 weeks post op and feel great instant pain relief but I guess that was because of the extent of the endometriosis. Haven't had results back to confirm yet but will let you know on staging. When I had diagnostic lap and treatment staging wasn't performed but changed gynaecologists and this team is just amazing not even leaving it there going through everything! Obviously I had a 2 minute walk just to grab sone fresh air but won't be pushing myself literally sat here feet up demanding for once 🤣🤣🤣 it just felt amazing of insight of whats to come 😁

Thats a shame to hear about your bowel and bladder obviously with the mass they suspect it may be deeper and may need further investigation. I think ive drawn the line in terms of surgery. I don't think I would have more if it can be helped. Ive got my head around the fact Ive tried everything if it returns its learning to live with it. Just so difficult knowing what you can do for the best x

HiThat is such amazing news. Just wanted to ask how old you are? Did the nhs do your operation for you? I’m having a hellish nightmare trying to get them to take mine away. Ive had enough of the pain and discomfort. I’m 50 now and have to choose between menopause and endometriosis. Ive been on HRT for a year and was amazing the first 6 months and then the endo grew so much I couldn’t take the pain? So pleased you found a cure (for now)

Im 30 had a nightmare too had to really fight for it in and out of hospital ringing everyday got mps involved the lot. Very draining but it was that or have no life They just weren't understanding the pain i was in. Yes they haven't promised it won't come back because of how fast mine grew back last op but i just needed to try and pray it stays mild if it does return. I hope you get some answers

I completely understand 🥲🥲 it horrible ? Ringing and chasing each day. Waiting on their calls. Very frustrating indeed. But pls don’t stress too much. I know it’s easy said than done. I’ve had those issues.

Try to hold it together 🥰🥰

Keep chasing until you get the reassurance you want. X

Well the consultant who took me on was amazing he took over very last minute and is keeping a close observation which is amazing. They haven't just done the op and just left it for another few years going way back to the beginning and putting it all together to make sure nothing is misses. Im so thankful its very rare! I think its getting the right person who is willing to take the time and not just ignore you really. So its been worth the fight .The thought is a lot to get used to however pain wise im amazing im just a different person! 😁

Hi so happy for you and hope your recovery continues to go well.

I’m due to have a full hysterectomy next week and I’m 27 seen your 30 so similar age to me any tips for after surgery? X

I hope goes well make sure you have peppermint, laxatives or stool softer i had both 😂. Eat as healthy as possible in the upcoming days so important. I would be lost without big cotton knickers 🤣. Expect a lot of bruising it looks worse than what it is but most importantly rest. I really hope all goes well for you too 😁please let me know how you get on x

Wow I've been reading your posts as I tio suffer with the right leg pain next to appendix it also stops me doing alot of things as too painful I know it's not maybe the right thi g to say but I'm actually relieved that I'm not the only 1 with the limp ...I'm waiting for diagnostic laparoscopy to see what is happening god knows how long I'll wait but I've had the limp 3 years now and been through lots of tests and scans etc as they thought it was back related, I'm so happy for you that the awful pain has gone I've had quite a few a&e visits and the always put in down to colic and suspected appendicitis/hernia/gallbladder but finally i put 2 nd 2 together and realised it worsened around my period so i done my own research and demanded to see gynaecology as i have had very heavy painful periods and chronic anemia it's great to see that there maybe light at the end of the tunnel ...hope u continue to get well and begin your exercise i miss this so much xx
