Feeling defeated by doctors

Hello all,

Just a quick detail of what happened.

I know we are going through a pandemic and doctors are over whelmed.

but i had surgery in January for endometriosis and they removed. Yes it was a small amount but it caused huge pain and once removed I was so much happier and pain free for 10 months.

last month I started getting bad pain again. Called doctor. He called specialist for advice. Specialist said it cant be endometriosis as I only had a small amount. Must be something else refer her elsewhere.

I dont know what to do?

Has anyone been through this?

Hi Alice,Unfortunately it can come back, or missed during surgery. I had 3 ops in 2 1/2 years and it was there every time. After my first op it was a battle getting them to listen but as my symptoms progressed i researched and found bsge centres existed and so managed to get a referral to one of those.

Are you under an endo specialist centre? The dr sent me for an mri and it showed i had it bad still, and that was approx 6 months after my first op. Did you have a follow up after your op?

You know your own body best and if something doesnt feel right it is important you push them for further investigation.

Sending hugs 🤗 Dawn x

Endometriosis can be missed or it can even come back iv had 4 laprostopy in last 6 years but symptoms came back much worse doctors wouldn't listen I kept pushing them till they finally gave in and referred me back due to covid iv not seen endo consultant in almost a year put me on waiting list for hysterectomy but stick to your guns and keep pushing till they listen xx

As has been said do go back to GP, MRI can be useful. Seems like you have a slightly proactive GP, which is good. You know how you feel. 🙂

Before hysterectomy I told the consultant to make sure he gets all the endo, as taking everything out, any endo left behind can cause issues. I’m still plaguing the GP 😆, still have some symptoms. So either something else or the complications during op to do with fibroids meant he couldn’t do everything.

Hi, See a different GP!!! You should be able to go on Zoladex.

Just cos a small amount was seen with a Lap, doesn't mean anything!

Everyone's pain is different. I don't think you require too many operations though!

Operations can cause damage, scar tissue. I have had 6. I can nolonger have anymore, unless I would be happy to loss my bowel and perhaps my bladder!

My inside is very bedded down now, very distorted, not easy to separate between tissues or organs and ridged.

My Endo still plays me up, now 60 but my main pain is doing physical things like walking a distance, driving along time, using vac and mops, emptying my ridged bowel!!!

I would look at your diet as Estrogen is in some foods. Don't have any soya! Also Histamines which are in food eg. Banana etc. Reduce milk and cheese as well.

If you have bowel inflammation go lactose and gluten free.

I wish I'd known about this when I was younger maybe I wouldn't have had the Endo so bad.

It has made a noticeable difference to me but my scar and nerve damage cos the ops is my main issue now!

Good Luck!

❤️
