Hi, so I was diagnosed with stage 4 endo last June, I'm waiting to have a hysterectomy but due to covid19 it's not looking like happening anytime soon! I'm on decapeptyl injections and HRT, I've been having pains in and under my ribs and down my right side and about 2 months ago I had this pain like contractions across the top of my stomach under ribs, I spoke to my specialist and she seems to think it's to do with my bowels!! Had an ultrasound yesterday and all looked ok and no gallstones (think this is what they thought) so now waiting to see what's next, I'm having to take Morphine just so I can get some sleep as its worse when laying down. Has anyone else had something like this? I just need it to stop 😭 thanku for reading xx
Anyone had something similar??: Hi, so I... - Endometriosis UK
Anyone had something similar??
HiI'm waiting on hysterectomy and removal of bowel endo....diagnosed in Feb....currently on prostap injections and HRT
I've been having these problems for a while.....Right sided rib pain etc and thought it was gastro related but after speaking with my consultant recently he said it could be endo on my diaphragm. Hopefully going to see him soon to find out what happens next
I can't lie flat and sleep propped up with loads of pillows!!
How long have you been on injections and HRT......Do you feel that there helping?
Hi Plotments,Thanku for ur reply, I've been on the injections for about 8 months, they have helped alot with my endo pains but for about 3 months I've started getting some pains bk, it's the rib and right side pains that are really getting to me now and not sleeping isn't really helping! Maybe I will spk to the gp about possible endo on my diaphragm 🤔 it's just getting me down now and no one seems to have any ideas 😕 hope u hear something sn xx
Hi, Ian so sorry to hear that you are going through this. I have stage four and it is miserable and frightening. Like you I was faced with having to take morphine for the pain but I resisted ( I hate morphine). Instead I asked to take progesterone having been told by a friend that it helped her, and it has helped me so much.
Thankfully a hysterectomy has never been suggested to me. It was thought that it wouldn't get rid of the endometriosis. In fact I still have it having gone through the menopause but it is controlled by the progesterone.
Have you tried a Tens machine for the pain?
Good luck, I know how awful this is for you.
