adenomyosis found on ultrasound

Hi i finally got a call from hospital a few days ago and they believe i have fluid returning behind my uterus again and they found a cluster of cells on the right side of my womb which they call adenomyosis!! the nurse said I need to see a consultant to discuss prostap injections or a hysterectomy which is scaring me to be honest, i had a operation last year to remove endos from behind uterus the pouch of douglas and both ovaries I felt ok for a few months then the pain returned so they gave me 3 months of prostap which helped my belly pain. I don't want any more children but im scared of the unknown what i will feel like if i do have to have a hysterectomy. I would appreciate anyones advice and thoughts please x

Hi I’ll let you know Wednesday, possibly, might be Thursday. Whichever consultant you see, make sure endo is there speciality, hysterectomy is a huge decision. Age will play a factor as will other things. You could chat to GP about it.

Hi! I have Adenomyosis and it is quite daunting. There is a “cure” for it and that is a hysterectomy but they tend to be reluctant to offer them. At 21, I couldn’t have one anyway when I want to be able to try for a family but it’s also left me with very little options. Trying doing some research and talking to other ladies as I think that can help you come to a decision. X
