Diaphragmatic endo

Hi ladies,

I have had a recent trip to the consultant due to some symptoms which I think are a flare up of my endo (previously under control). The consultant thinks it is diaphragmatic endo but this is a different place to where I had the pain before so I'd be interested to hear what others is like and if there's anything you find that helps. Mine is right sided and feels like its tucked up under my ribcage. It almost feels like a stitch sort of pain which then wraps around the back as a tightness/aching. Does this sound like anyone elses pain? It used to flare up around a week before I was due on and I was put back on the pill to see if it helped but more recently it is there pretty much all the time. It would just be good to hear other peoples stories and know I'm not alone in this. Xx

Your not alone.. same pains as you but it will also go up my neck and around ear....all right sided pain.....feels similar to gas pain after lap......also heavy dragging feeling around ribs.

I'm waiting on 3rd op now for hysterectomy and removal of all endo from pelvis bowel and diaphragm.

Tried various pain relief currently on tramadol which helps nerve pain but not the pressure pains. On mini pill but not making any difference....consultant starting me on prostap for 3 months before my op.

Take care xx

Thanks for the response. It's so frustrating. It does feel like the gas pains from the lap, you're right! Sometimes I feel like if I could only lift my rib cage up I could easy the pressure under there. I hope you get some relief. Xx

Hi, I too have similar pain and have confied diaphram endo.

plotments, can I ask where are you getting excision of diaphram endo?

My consultant thinks it is too risky to try to remove diaphram endo. However, it is clearly on NHS guideline to remove them.

I am waiting on confirmation of MRI results but my consultant is sure my symptoms are related to diaphragmatic endo and they are very much like you describe. I get short stabbing pains at 2-3 regular points - as if someone is jabbing a finger in between ribs - combined with a pressure as if someone is constantly squeezing the base of my ribs. I can also get pain in my neck and shoulder like a bad trapped nerve and tingling feelings down my arms, in my hands and fingers. It is affecting my breathing a lot too. Not on any medication at the moment and the only thing that seems to help is a hot bath/hot water bottle. Sorry to hear others are suffering, though it is a relief to hear from people with similar symptoms and that I am not going mad. Hope everyone gets some relief soon.

I did not know this was a thing. I get an awful pain under my right rib and sometimes feel like I'm being stabbed. It started a out 6 months after I had a fall.

My GP did an X ray and said as it didn't seem anything serious it was never followed up saying it must be linked to the fall.

Had this for about 5 years. May not be linked at all but interesting
