I had a very large endometrioma on my right ovary removed at the beginning of June. I was on a menopause injection for 6 months over this period to help “reduce” the size of the cyst. I can safely say this did not work. As of August the gynaecologist put me on a combination pill which I have to take back to back for a year until I am ready to try to have a baby. It’s been nearly 5 months and I am now getting pains again. My right side where I had my endometrioma before has started to hurt again and these past few weeks I am spotting (sorry to be graphic) very dark brown/ black blood/clumps.
Has anyone else experienced this? I have gone back to being so tired, constantly. I’m sleeping 11 hours a night on my days off and constantly feeling panicky. Something isn’t right. :/

hi there sorry to hear what you’ve been through , I too have had surgery to have an endometrioma removed last November , it was 10cm , in my case I never knew I had this cyst until having scans during ivf treatment , I never really had pain symptoms as such , but always had terrible pain around my period & very tired & like shooting pains going to toilet
I just thought this was a normal thing during my cycle . I was then diagnosed with endometriosis after the laparoscopy to remove the cyst , but because I was awaiting to go through ivf again they left any other treatment and advised that getting pregnant will prevent endometriosis from growing , but 6 weeks after this when I had a scan at my ivf clinic they discovered the endometrioma had returned in the same place but smaller this time around 5cm , I was put on the prostap injections (menopause) for 5 months but it didn’t reduce its size , it hasn’t grown either which was good news, it’s tricky for me undergoing ivf they don’t want to send me for another surgery incase of damage to the ovary. I know that reoccurring endometriomas are quite common.
Hi there, I was wondering how you are and whether you have any diagnosis. I had a unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy in August, due to a large endometrioma, and have been good and regular since then. However my last period is delayed but all period sympoms (pain, cramps, bloating) have been there on the dot of when my period was meant to come. I had one light spotting a few weeks before that and have had white discharge (sorry for TMI). The pain is starting to remind me of the pre surgery situation. I had all my post surgery follow up appointments cancelled and cant really get in touch with the endo department. Just wondered what your experience is.
