Visanne 2mg

Hi there :),

My gynaecologist has prescribed me with visanne 2mg. I am nervous to go on this hormonal medication as I have tried many contraceptive pills and have had adverse side effects to do with my mental health. I was wondering if anyone could share their experience with visanne ? And any other medications that have helped them.

I think it is coming. It is now in our BNF - British National Formulary - and has been named and will be produced by Stragen UK Ltd. But as far as I'm aware to date it has not yet been approved - is awaiting completion of evidence review. x

Hi! I’m in the same position, just underwent an emergency laparoscopy for a ruptured cyst & got an official endo diagnosis (after many years of suspected endo).

I have been off hormones completely since Nov 2019, as, like you, I had really adverse mental health side effects that cancelled out any benefits.

Since getting the official diagnosis, though, I am considering taking Visanne, in case I want a chance to have children in a few years... I’m nervous and doubtful to try it.

Did you try it in the end?
