I have an endometriosis and I wanted to share my experience I had today at work. I had awful pain in my ovaries radiating to my legs and mainly to my knees and feet. Pain was so dull, radiating, and disturbing, that I nearly fainted. It lasted 1 hour. My legs felt so weak and like "jelly". It is hard to describe it... I feel so useless and fed up after today.
Why knees, why feet??? What does it mean??
Sending hugs to all off you!

I always get pins and needles and numbing in my legs, predominantly my right side with my period and mid-cycle flare ups, I also end up feeling weak, unable to fully stand, it is an absolute nuisance.
Hi, that sounds absolutely horrible and frightening. I’m not a doctor (but am married to a US osteopath/family medicine specialist and have talked with her about my own endometriosis and mittelschmerz/ovulation pain) and one possible explanation is that a lot of the nerves to your legs go through your pelvis. Ovulation releases a lot of hormones that can aggravate the nerves around the ovaries and this may be causing pain throughout the rest of the nerves (doesn’t seem fair, does it?). Nerve pain isn’t addressed by things like paracetamol, but there are some things you can try:
- Osteopathic manipulation to redirect or distract the nerve pathways and alleviate restrictions that may be pinching nerves (lasts anywhere from one to three weeks for me)
- Quercetin supplement to fight oxidative stress and excess histamine buildup
-TENS unit (stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) I like the Ovira one from Ovira.com- also distracts the nerves and is small enough to wear under clothes
-Topical capsaicin (made for arthritis and needs to be used carefully but it can desensitize the nerves)
-Sounds weird but an antihistamine may also help (Diphenhydramine works best for me) or try a low histamine diet around this time in your cycle
Again, I’m not a doctor and if this keeps happening you should definitely get checked out). I hope you find some relief!
