I had a diagnostic laparoscopy at this end of this July, along with the insertion of the Mirena coil. I'm still in incredible amounts of pain, and it's getting worse by the day. Nothing seems to be touching it, I've gotten to the point where I can't even do my housework or the dishes without taking a break. I'm at my wit's end and was wondering if anyone had any tips or advice for coping with this?
Thanks in advance!

Hi sorry to hear you are still in so much pain. I haven’t had my lap yet but I’m waiting for it, I’m nervous about the post lap pain but I can’t offer any proper advice from experience sorry.
My friend Post surgery used an electric heat pad constantly wrapped round her tummy to help with pain though.
Have you made any changes to what you eat to help with inflammation? I found cutting certain foods out really helped and calmed the pain.. also ice rather than heat?
I have, I've minimized the amount of processed food and red meat that I eat, as well as taking omega-3 supplements to help with the inflammation. I've not found it helpful as of yet, but I'm still going to work on cutting them out completely.
I hadn't thought of ice, I will have to try that, thank you!
Also Magnesium.. I find bath full of epsom salts really helps.. takes time when you take the supplements though but it really helps. I have just started a journey with a nutritionist and it is helping me
Oh I hadn't thought of taking magnesium ones, I will look into that! I usually have epsom baths when I go back to my parents, though sometimes it's hard to sit in there because of the pressure on my back and hips. I'm considering seeing a nutritionist at some point, I'm glad you've found it helps you! x
I would highly recommend it, they say your gut and hormone levels can have a big impact on pain and pain management as a result of inflammation being reduced through eating and sleeping well. good luck !
I've not had a diagnosis as of yet, my lap was very short and the surgeon said she didn't want to see me again, so I've gone to get a second opinion. I'm back on the waiting list to see another gynaecologist who will hopefully at least point me in the right direction of some relief. The only treatment was the Mirena coil, and I've not found that helpful so far x
It doesn't say anything about endometriosis, just the insertion of the mirena. The doctor who I'm currently with has suggested that it may be adenomyosis, but we're waiting on the gynaecology referral to say anything else x
It was all very confusing, I had to push for the surgeon to tell me about it afterwards, and even then they were somewhat reluctant. That's a good idea, I'll see if that's something I can do, thank you x
I had the same thing and was in lots of pain, I went to the doctor and it turned out I had a PID infection. It’s worth going to the doctor to rule that out?
