Trying to conceive with endo

This month will be my 5th month of trying, I’ve read online that people with endo should go to the gp after 6 months of trying is this correct? I know it naturally takes a long time anyway but worried that my endo could be stopping me

If you have concerns it’s taking longer than you think it should, see your GP. They might check OH sample or run bloods on you. They didn’t refer me until 12months. You could check your local guidelines. You can always say you have been trying longer ? Good luck xx

I’m going to wait till it’s been 6 months then speak to the gp I think! Thanks xx

Do you know what stage endo you have? If it’s stage 4 might be worth getting advice sooner. I have stage 4 and they referred me to fertility clinic before 12 months x

No they didn’t tell me what stage they just said it was mild, I had the laparoscopy and was diagnosed in September 2017. From what I can vaguely remember he said it wasn’t affecting my tubes but more around my left ovary and my bowel and I had tons of adhesions x

Ah well mild is good. 5 months is still early on, it took a few of my friends around a year to conceive even without endo. No harm in asking GP for advice and to be referred sooner if you worried 🤗x

My GP had us down for a year wait, think it’s 6 months if you’re over 35, but I was in constant contact with my GP from 6 months and made them aware we were trying and things weren’t happening despite OPKs, timed intercourse, supplements, fertility lubes etc xx

Thank you. I might just speak to them when it’s been 6 months and see what they say x

Hi I went to my doctor after 5 months of trying. I suspected I had endo and I just had a gut feeling that I wouldn’t get pregnant without help from the doctors.

I’m now at 10 months of trying and I’m one month into the fertility clinic support. I’ve been put on a wait list for surgery but told it could take months and months.

So yes, I’d say speak to your gp now if you’re concerned, and push for more support as it’s a long process. I hope this helps, wishing you all the best xx

Also just to add, if the gp won’t refer you now you can go and do your own private blood tests or ask for a private referral to speak to an endometriosis specialist. I did both those things whilst I was waiting to speak to the fertility clinic. The blood tests I did privately with Medichecks, they actually showed a hormonal balance issue and it helped the gp speed up my referral to the clinic, so well worth it for me anyway xx
