Newly diagnosed and had laparoscopy
My op was 14th Sept when I had endo excised. I am still in a lot of pain on the side it was removed and my tummy feels generally bruised all over. It’s frustrating that the pain is still there. I went to my Gp who prescribed me naproxen 500mg and buscopan for cramping. Helps until they wear off then it’s awful. Hot water bottle helps a bit. Dr said have to give myself time to heal. Have u seen the GP? X
So sorry to hear that things were bearable and maybe now a little bit tougher. Are you in pain the whole time or just getting out of bed and standing up from a sitting position?
I'm in a similar situation but it's not constant and has been like this since my laparoscopy just over 2 weeks ago. I'm only talking ibuprofen and paracetomol although it's not taking it away entirely. Going to see a physio to see if it's connected to my back as that's been hurting a bit too... fingers crossed.
Take it easy. x
It’s a constant pain, the painkillers are only mildly dulling it. Maybe a stronger painkiller will work better for you.
Got my fingers crossed for you. X
Get yourself to AnE, you can’t be like that till then. They will manage your pain better and prob admit you. Don’t put up with it on your own xx
Your right. I’m going to but the silly thing is to go to a&e I have to get an appointment. Covid is making everything so much more difficult
Are you able to walk? If you are in so much pain you can’t properly call an ambulance. Call 111 and get yourself seen, pain means something is wrong and after surgery it could be an infection somewhere x
You don't need an appointment for a and e what if you were dying?you just take yourself up there no one can stop you going to hospital if it's an emergency
Sounds sill yes I know but my nearest a&e that’s what there doing it’s madness
That's ridiculous I've been to a and e 3 times since this started no problem if it's that bad I'd go to a different hospital where it's not necessary for an appointment .surely they can't refuse treatment when your bad
You need to wait for it to heal you’ve had a major op could take up to a year
Got my surgery on the 10th of August and it took me 6 weeks to recover fully
I have a Mirena coil now
1st period were hell as ever, the 2 last one not pain free but definitely manageable
You are going to be fine but it takes time...
Hi, when did you get your Mirena coil in relation to when you had your surgery and what were your reasons for that? How have you found the Mirena coil?
Also how has your recovery been since your surgery? I have mine in four weeks but due to my history with depression relating to hormonal birth control, including progesterone, the coil doesn't look like a possible option for me.
