Whyyyyyyyy is it so hard for a Dr to understand 😡

So just a update on my last dr's phone appointment on Friday so when I was told in March I was getting referred again he said I didn't understand him he said he told me to ring 3weeks later if I had the same pains he would think about it so when I rang 3 weeks after and said I needed stronger painkillers because it's got worse and I didn't mention it myself he didn't bother doing the referral 🤷 I said didn't the phonecall give you a clue so I'm going to have to wait years yet again to get something done crying by this time I also said I can't cope anymore I am extremely run down with spots I have bruises all over I'm constantly tired and in agony everyday I can hardly walk and nobody is helping me so he waited for a moment for me to stop talking then said I will refer you now, then I said I want to be referred to a endometriosis specialist he said it doesn't work like that so I've now been referred to god knows who, then he Rang 5 mins later and said have some blood tests FFS I had bloods done 4 weeks ago then last week now this week, I hate my body and all they want is blood, sorry for the rant I hope everyone is doing ok today 😢 xx

It’s horrendous to keep experiencing all this. Has he done the referral on a priority? Given they screwed up months ago it’s the least to expect. Have they mentioned they think it’s endo? If so check on the NICE guidelines, it might say that if it’s suspected then it can go to a specialist.

I can understand how you feel, still there at the moment, it’s very frustrating.

If you go in for bloods with the practice nurse, take a urine sample for them to test to make sure no uti. Unfortunately you have to micro manage so much these days, which is tiring at times.

Give it a few days if they can’t change the referral and check if gynae have received it, and if you can, tell them you are available for cancellations, it works sometimes.

Hope you feel a bit better soon, it’s a sort of step forward. 🙂

I had a laperoscopy in December 19 and they found endo in the POD it wasn't done by a specialist so im guessing they may have missed some, otherwise it come back near enough straight away, I had loads of trouble getting the first lap too going through 4 gynes just to get there it's ridiculous isn't it, I rang every week that time too asking for cancellations it took 4 years in all just to get the diagnosis then I got dumped after the lap no aftercare appointment or nothing xx

Your GP is wrong, if you’ve had Endo diagnosed/treated you are entitled to a referral to a specialist BSGE centre. That’s definitely in the NICE guidelines. Your previous consultant should have referred you at the time. That’s also mentioned. Have a flick through, see what might have gone wrong and potentially you could bring PALS into it.

In the meantime if it was me, I’d fill in the GP surgery online form and copy/paste the relevant info and give them the link. This way it’s in writing and you can have a copy of the form.

I filled in yet another form week before last, had a call back last Monday from own GP. I could see the appointment online and I thought he’s either going to kick me out or help. I hadn’t spoken to him since Feb, it’s always others (likely short straws 🤣)

I now have two referrals, one gastro and I think a new diagnostic clinic. No one has come up with a reason that I can’t eat much and losing a lot of weight. I’m also waiting for hysterectomy, could be gynae/endo related still.

Let us know how you get on 🤣

Don’t go for the extended version with all sorts of other info, research etc., tried, gave up 😂

I’m sorry to hear what you’re going through.

You’re chasing a diagnosis?

Tbh GPs don’t help much and you’ll have to chase after what you want. Also when you get an appointment with a GP try to ask for someone with experience in gynaecology. In case they have a GP that knows about female reproductive problems it’ll be easier to get things moving.

On top of that keep a journal of your symptoms, cycle, etc.

Sadly they don’t listen when we talk about our pains.

I only got things moving when they spotted endometriosis cysts. Before they’d tell me to take over the counter pain killers. And it wouldn’t matter how much I complained.

Just get all your evidences...list of symptoms etc. They’ll still check things before sending you to an endometriosis specialist so you can just ask for a gynaecologist referral and try to get things moving with the gynae.

I already have a diagnosis I got that in Dec 19 I had it removed from the POD, he's reluctant to send me to a specialist but I am starting to write it all down again for whoever I get sent to this time, I have prescription painkillers (zapain & tramadol) so that's not a problem but they don't always work when the pain gets bad which is most days I don't really want to try nothing stronger as I'm always tired and drowsy on these ones. I'd be like the living dead on anything stronger. Xx

Then that is definitely strange. If you’ve been diagnosed already they usually do the referral to the specialist without any issues.

That's what I thought too, I'm so mad, I'm seeing the practice nurse tomorrow for more blood tests, so I'm going to have a moan at her too about it xx

Am I reading this wrong here you already have a diagnosis and it shouldn’t have took so darn long to get in the first place take the niece guidelines shove it in his face and demand a referral I’ve been here before unfortunately with a regular gynaecologist I never took his stupid lap where he would miss the endo and my private specialist who also works on nhs diagnosed me without a lap you shouldn’t have to keep pushing like this start writing in complaints to your g.p you can write emails in a nice way I did this with my g.p not sure where that got me as COVID started and I fell pregnant luckily for me !youve waited too long lovely hope you get somewhere soon!
