I have been on the pill for years, since Feb I have been having breakthrough bleeding and a lot of pain and very heavy bleeding when having the week break on the pill. GP did two scans which showed ovarian cysts and adenomyosis changes. Had telephone appointment with gynae who also think endometriosis. They told me to take me pill constantly for 4-6 months to see if it helped the bleeding. I have been bleeding now for 4 months. I get really bad cramps which keep me up at night. GP is next to useless and told me to take ibuprofen for the pain which does nothing. Hospital can't see GP scans so waiting for another at the hospital and then a hsytroscopy. I called the consultant secretary as having no luck with GP and they are giving me tranexamic acid. Has anyone else had this? Will it help with the bleeding? No one really tells me anything to be honest!. TiA x

I've been on a few different pills and had the implant in my arm, I bled a lot with all of them. In on a pill just now which I never take a break from (used to be cerazette now it's cerelle, might be wrong with the spelling)
I still bleed a bit but not as often.
They also gave me tablets to take once I started bleeding to help stop it, can't remember the name of them because I have run out and not been back to the doctor! But they seemed to work.
You can get solpadene from the chemist which is a lot better than ibuprofen! And I constantly have a hot water bottle or heat pad on.
Thank you for replying x a heat pack is my constant companion at the moment! I have been using cocadamol from the chemist at night but some nights it doesn't touch the pain.
