Just to say to you all never give up and hang in there, we know our own bodies. Finally had a lap which revealed endometriosis on the right side, such a massive relief as since my hysterectomy 3 yrs ago where endo was removed from pouch of Douglas and the left side my pain continued on the right side and I have been told by GPs that it was imagined pain, IBS been prescribed calm apps! I was beginning to think that absolutely nobody believed me at all. It’s been such a stressful 3 yrs. I even had a failed hernia repair during that time. I know it’s incurable but I am hoping to be pain free for a while. Never give up the fight 💕 xx

That’s great you’ve got it sorted (eventually), why do they say pain is imagined.
I asked the consultant last week if he’s going to look everywhere for endo when he does hysterectomy and he said he would. It’s awful for you that they didn’t get it all before. Will you say anything to GP?
It’s been said by many GPs I am afraid, they just don’t seem to understand that it can grow again after hysterectomy. I was told as pain was there before u still think it’s there but it’s not. I am just glad I found the strength to carry on the fight which was so hard. They should have a good look around when they do your op. Are u keeping your ovaries? I have and surgeon explained how important it is to preserve them as long as possible. I am 45. She did say if pain comes back we can try zoladex to see if it helps to test whether or not they need to remove them. I wish u all the very best xx
It’s so silly and tiring, how they just give a stupid reason rather than just investigate.
I’m having everything out, I’m 52, so things should have started shutting down but before Zoladex they hadn’t. Not sure at the moment as effects would need to wear off. The consultant did seem to agree when I said about checking everywhere. Technically if he does and everything gone, it shouldn’t return.
Unfortunately me and trusting drs is not a high rate currently.
I worry as if we had our ovaries out and had to take Hrt then it would continue to grow from that so can’t win whatever. I really hope all goes well for you and you will finally be rid of this awful disease. X
Same.
My GP's thought I was being hysterical and I'm never at the doc or the complaint type
I am convinced that if endometriosis grew on the outside of testicles there would be some genuine recognition 😌
So happy for you. Who did your Lap if you dont mind me asking ? Kind Regards Di
It was Tracey Appleyard, I was so happy, she was so lovely and explained things thoroughly beforehand. x
