London Endometriosis Specialist

Hi I’m looking for a specialist recommendation in London please, preferably private. Don’t care where will travel anywhere.

I had NHS specialist referral today who told me I have endometriosis and adhesion but to start taking the pill and come back in 6 months. I was extremely upset as am swollen like 6 months pregnant and in a lot of pain. I can’t wait around like this. She didn’t listen and was very dismissive, feeling very disappointed and upset. Any help would be great I’m not sure how to tackle this at all.

Hi there,

Firstly, sorry to hear you're going through this. The last thing you need are people being dismissive and unhelpful at this sort of time :(

I've had my Consultant for the best part of 3 years now and he has honestly been heaven-sent. It's Dr Robert Richardson and he's based out of both Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and The Lister Hospital (depending on the day of the week). He's calm, supportive and really really listens to what you're telling him. He just also happens to be extremely well-regarded as a Gynaecological Surgeon - which definitely puts your mind at ease.

I'm sure other ladies on here have many other recommendations, but I will just continue to see him as he's been so good for me,

Best of luck with whatever you decide xx

Hiya,

I went to the BMI Shirley Oaks Hospital which is a private hospital but also does NHS appointments and laparoscopies.

I had a really good experience with them - all staff were really helpful and lovely.

Good luck with everything x

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you are suffering so much and not getting much help from NHS.

I would suggest keep trying harder with NHS through PALS and ur GP.

I am seeing Dr.Cutner he runs a private BSGE Center at King Edwards hospital . So far he seems to have a plan of treatment I am happy with .

Take care and hope you can find better care soon.

Professor rymers a top endo specialist at Guys, she does work privately which I tried to do but her private waiting list was months long. I have seen her at Guys but shes not there very often. The other female consultants very nice there though.

Hi, I'm sorry to see you're struggling like this, it's so frustating to be dismissed like this. Unfortunately, we're not allowed to give specific names of specialists on this forum, but if you're looking for people experienced in treatment of endo, look on the BSGE website. They have a list of accredited endometriosis centres and names of specialists who can hopefully help you. Best of luck with everything xxxx

My Specialist is a leading one, surgeon. She works both NHS and Private Clinic. Queen Charlottes. Miss Rose. Tuesdays and Thursdays she works there. She also went to America to work with leading Endo Specialist Mr Redwin. She has operated on me several times, her small hands and gentle ways increased my time of recovery compaired to the 2 opps by different men.

My best hopes for you.

Hello GLondon15

If you want to look for a suitable consultant we recommend that you have a look on the BSGE website at the list of accredited endometriosis centres bsge.org.uk/centre/.

We prefer it if people don't name specific doctors or hospitals as one person's experience can be quite different from another persons. Please note we will remove any negative comments as they could be defamatory.

I hope you manage to find a suitable doctor and hospital.

Best wishes
