I am due to go into surgery on Thursday for a lap to remove my endometriosis , ovaries and cysts . My consultant says it is completed also , currently I am self isolating and due to have a covid test on Monday ( 72 hrs before ) I am reading lots of your posts about recovery and also returning to work
I am a WW coach and whilst I run workshops virtually from home I also have a workshop in the real world where I carry lots of stock and set the workshop up on my own and nice furniture around.
I am starting to panic a little of the recovery time and how this will effect my role when returning
Any advice would be welcomed
Could I also ask what foods you find beneficial to you and help to calm symptoms
Thank you

I’m still trying the foods side, avoiding dairy (lactose) and gluten as much as possible. I did have some wheat recently, which may have caused the bad night. It’s very much trial and error.
I hope all goes smoothly for op, with a bit of luck recovery time will not be too long, try not to rush things though.
Hi. I am 2 months post lap with excision and I am still being very careful with heavy carrying. I can do light carrying, but nothing heavy. Also, be prepared for the level of tiredness post surgery. Give yourself time to recover.
When setting up your workshop, if at all possible, maybe you could ask for some help to carry the heavy stuff?
In terms of food, since last May 2019, as I was reacting to these food groups, I put myself on an exclusion anti inflammatory diet free from: gluten, dairy, soya, caffeine, chocolate (contains both milk and soya), brown rice, apples, dry/baked beans. Instead, I have gluten free pasta, bread, cakes, decaff coffee, vegan chocolate, rice, sweet potatoes, quinoa, coconut milk. I still react to these food groups so I have kept to my diet post surgery. It certainly reduces the bloating and the pain.
I also supplement with magnesium glycenate (tiredness, insomnia), vitamin D and C, zinc, iron (anaemia).
Peppermint tea is also good post surgery with tummy pains.
