Should I have one 49 6 surgeries
Hysterectomy : Should I have one 49... - Endometriosis UK
Hysterectomy
Although hysterectomies are still offered as treatment solution for endometriosis, much research and many studies say they are not a dependable or lasting solution to endometriosis. Where they are shown to be used effectively is in the treatment of Adenomyosis, rather than Endometriosis.
While some women find some relief after a Hysterectomy, it appears that in the majority of cases this is temporary and that any relief in symptoms soon dissolves. For many women that suffer from endometriosis they even have a return of symptoms after menopause, despite the historical thought that menopause 'cures' a woman of endometriosis and/or all the associated symptoms.
I wish I could offer better news. I've done a lot of reading up on the subject in investigating different approaches and their success rates.
You might find the Facebook group Nancy's Nook Endometriosis helpful as it offers a wide range of material available and you may find something useful within it.
Whatever your decision in the end, I hope you find the solution that is best for you and that it comes with relief from the pain and any other symptoms you experience.
