Small, solid lumps, anyone?

PurpleSynesthesia profile image

Hi everyone, I discovered (2 months ago) that I have 2 solid lumps in my rectovaginal septum (wall between bum & vagina). They seem to stay where they are. They're getting bigger, gradually - I believe they have both doubled in size since I found them. They're very hard, almost sharp, like uncooked rice & do cause mild discomfort when touched. (Not STD related.)

To clarify, I only found them when inserting my menstrual cup & wasn't "fiddling around" as the patronising nurse accused me of. I was told to keep checking them for changes, via previous telephone appointment with the GP, who has since declined to acknowledge there's anything wrong.

Anyone else had the same or similar? Did you ever get anyone to take you seriously & find out what they were?

I have lots of lumps some are scaring tissue and others in still awaiting the answer to. They got found in a cystoscopy scan and told they where coming through from my uterus and pushing against my bladder (which makes sense) but when back in gyni clinic they said bowels 🤯 passed from pillar to post again but I'm not giving up I dont think anything sinister but it's the pressure and pain its causing! I'm expecting in my case to be Adenomyosis or some sort of fibroid or cyst given I've had cysts in the past. But given I've been on zoladex injections a long time these should of gone. So currently chasing constantly! Alls I would say is keep an eye and keep telling gp and or consultant its growing and keep a diary of when you have contacted them so you can use dates really helps them be aware they aren't taking it seriously. I think its piece of mind but it should be taken seriously you can always say you would like a second opinion but I really hope you get answers soonx

Thanks for the reply, was starting to feel like a loon!

I also don't think it's anything sinister but what to know what they are. I'm pretty sure they're endo-related.

Feel like I'm fighting so many battle at the moment, sometimes it's all a bit too much & I wish I could pass over the responsibility... Except I'm the adult now & it is my responsibility.

I'm also being passed from one phonecall to the next - I was due a scan appointment in May or June & someone dropped the ball so the referral never happened, now nobody will pick it up again. GP said if they re-refer it'll take me back to the bottom of the waiting list, given the wrong number for the gynecologist (deliberately?) & receptionist I spoke to told me to contact scan department (I refused & reminded her that they didn't even have a referral), she was meant to call me yesterday... After neglecting to call me on Wednesday.

Hope you also get answers soon x

Omg that's awful!!! Can you change doctors?! That's out of order meanwhile your left worrying! If not I'd definitely complain about it I know they under a lot of pressure at the moment but to miss a scan! It's not your fault so why should you wait a very long time! Already been waiting long enough by the sound of it. I hope they manage to rectofty their mistake for you! x

My case is rare but I actually had endo come out of me 😬 it looked like a blister and was really painful, it was sore and bluish in colour and eventually burst and really dark (almost black) old blood came out. I could feel vine like tunnels inside my vagina which when pressed more blood came out of. I would make an appt to see an endo specialist and get them to have a look, it cost me £150 but it was worth every penny xx

Hiya, love the name! Always good to acquaint with a fellow game geek 😅

That sounds awful. £150 doesn't sound too bad & I'll definitely look into it... Getting nowhere with NHS except deeper into depression.

There are many excellent NHS workers, but those that aren't cast a shadow on the whole organisation.

Would you be able to DM me any specific details ie which specialist you used & anything else you think I may find helpful etc?

Not what you're looking for?
