I had a scan a few weeks ago to check the size of my cysts, this morning I’ve had a phone call from my consultant to say that she’s had the report from the scan, and the cyst that’s just under 5cm on the right ovary, doesn’t look typical with a endometromia so they want to do a urgent MRI scan & bloods to check, i asked if it could be cancer and she said she can’t rule anything out but typically it’s just endometriosis. I’ve had this cyst on and off for ages now & after all the scans I’ve had they never once called me in for MRI, she’s also told me I need to get my bloods done & now my anxiety is through the roof thinking the worse. Has anyone had anything similar happen to them? X

I haven’t gone through this hun but this is just a message sending you a hug. Endo is a right bitch, sometimes I wonder why they word things the way they do. Get the tests done and try to keep busy, easier said than done I know x
Please try not to be scared just get your bloods done, go for the MRI scan do all that's necessary so you know where you stand regards to conceiving big hug🤗 and let us know how you get on
Hi yes in 2014 I begged my GP for an ultrasound as I had a pulling sensation and just knew I had another ovarian cyst. They normally leave cysts under 5cm alone. But they said this one had stuff in it and had to be removed, cysts can contain hair and teeth, weird right? Anyway! The cyst only showed up as I was ovulating and 2 weeks to the day I had an mri (cyst had totally disappeared) and they said you don't have cancer but you have advanced endometriosis! Ffs
So annoying but they can get it wrong. The blood test is a ca125 but is not accurate. It can sometimes detect stuff like cancer but not always and even if your number is higher than it should be it doesn't always follow that the result is set in stone. Please don't worry, they still don't know lots about our condition and cysts are part of endometriosis, called 'chocolate cysts' but are not cancerous.
Some cysts are filled with water type fluid.
Some meditation will help, you have to get through this one day at a time xxx
Thanks so much, I’ve had problems with cysts for a few years now, I was in a lot of pain in Jan this year & had a CT scan which they just said the cyst was 5cm and that’s where it was left, had the scan recently as I’m suppose to be having surgery & she called this morning! Praying everything will be ok xx
Hi lovely, yes I had a similar thing at Christmas where they didn’t like the look of a cyst from a scan I had done.
I had a few scans and they were all very fast at getting the apps and everything ended up fine!
I know it’s scary and also at one of my apps they had a McMillan nurse which scared the life out of me but that was just as they were investigating at that time and they were not sure it was someone who was in the hospital that you could ring if there were any questions.
Thanks so much! It’s so scary, it’s the not knowing and waiting that makes it worse especially as I have anxiety! I’m not sure she said she’s sent off for it to be urgent, should be within 2 weeks. Praying everything turns out ok xx
Yes I am sure it was a shock too and it is worrying but hopefully they will move fast on your apps. I had a few scans so don’t worry if that happens as they are just want to make sure on what it is. I had scans with dye and MRIs etc but again all moved fast.
Oh also my ca125 flagged as raised but they said that can happen with woman who have endometriosis
Let me know how you get on and I have everything crossed it’s ok xxx
I always go by.... Worrying will not change a situation, what ever it is will be the same as when you get the news so nothing will have changed only you knowing what is is will have changed. Don't panic your self, what will be will be I know it's hard anxiety is crippling I'm the same as u and I hate waiting. Xxx
