How do i get doctors to actually help me?

Hi everyone,

I have been having issues with my periods before i even started having them! (Since i was around the age of 12)

Recently a colleague of mine was diagnosed with endometriosis and now she can no longer work. We get nearly exactly the same symptoms but hers have just progressed further.

I have been going to and from doctors since the age of 16 with the same issues and i keep getting the run round. 'You need to lose weight; try this and see how it goes' etc. Endometriosis is obviously a serious concern for me and i was just wondering how i get doctors to be proactive about actually diagnosing my issues rather than blaming me?

Any help with this would be great as i am about at my breaking point.

Thank you 😊

I made a visual pain diary and turned it into percentage of pain and bleeding a month. When it was 80% they agreed to the lap x

I have started doing this myself aswell as then there is something solid for them to base off - its frustrating though.

Thank you 😊

It took me 12 years to get referred to gynaecology. I was bleeding nearly every day of the month, in absolute agony all of the time, not just TOTM! for me i was on a constant TOTM. I was suffering with heavy managhoria (cannot spell lol) I was suffering with IBS issues and various other things. It was actually my gastroenterologist that referred me to Gynaecology. The first lady was reluctant to help but when she investigated further she scheduled me in for a lap two weeks after i saw her. They were adamant they wouldn't find anything, 4 hours later, i return from the lap.... Endometrial ablation on both ovaries, cervix, uterus, bladder and some on the bowel removed.... however, not even close to all of it, but enough to "help" here i am.... 5 months later, in as much pain if not more than i was before, being told i am now going to enter early menopause in the next 3-4 years (i am 30).... and i am in too much pain to consider a child and i would never bring one into the world in this much pain.... they also dont even know if i can have children....so to me, i would rather they take it all out instead of me wasting time trying....

my advice...push....push hard... keep pushing until someone listens...and when they listen and it hasnt helped...push more! my fiance came with me to all my appointments and he was able to also tell them how bad i suffer with everything...

Thank you. I have been going with the same issues for around 12 years. Finally got refferred for a gyno appointment on 17 dec (took 10 years for that to happen!) Abd now ive been told again to wait 4 months and see how it goes....

When i go back i am pushing for a lap as its the only way to know for sure.

Thanks for the advise, i will keep pushing
