Does anyone else find that each time they have a bad flare up it’s worse than the last?
I ended up in hospital 3 times last year due to the severe pain. When I end up having a bad flare up which seems to be every 2 to 3 months, it’s usually for 5-7 days but this time the pain seems so much worse and I’m on day 12 😭
Does anyone else find it worse each time?
And does anyone else find that it’s not every month? I don’t bleed at all due to being out on the contraceptive implant but sometimes have a massive bleed every 3/4 months.
The pain is so severe this time! The only reason I haven’t gone to hospital is I seem to find I’m in for a couple of day’s on pain relief and get nowhere further on. They don’t seem to really take it seriously at all as if it’s just a period.
Help 😭

Yes, I have this problem too. Each flare up I think "it can't get any worse than this", and each time I'm proved wrong. Massive flare up for me started yesterday (though in the past 3 weeks I've had more bad days than "good"). Had ambulance out last night but refused to be taken to hospital as, like you say, it's just IV painkillers and then get booted out. I'm so desperate at this point that I've booked to have a hysterectomy privately (very expensive but I just can't do this anymore!). This is honestly the most debilitating condition I've ever come across, I can only liken the pain to intense labour. I'm so sorry to hear of your suffering (and that of every other poor woman on here). It's little comfort I know, but you are not alone with this. Hope you start to feel a little better soon xx
Thanks so much for your reply. I would 100% agree with you! It is one of the most debilitating conditions and it just takes over your life doesn’t it and gets you so down. What are you using for pain relief? Hope your feeling much better soon too x
It's terribly debilitating, and totally messes with your head too. I have so many painkillers it's ridiculous! Cocodamol, tramadol, naproxen, oramorph, amitriptyline. Some help sometimes, but not other times. I'm on day 3 of being confined to bed, having to rely on my husband/ mum/ 10 year old daughter to bring me things. So humiliating and makes me feel like a terrible burden.
Hot water bottles or microwave wheat bags are my permanent fixture, they do ease the pain off a little bit. Don't know if you've tried that?
