This is my first post so if I’ve not posted this in the right please then apologies!
After trying to conceive for 1 year we were referred for IVF and I had a transvaginal scan which found a 10cm ovarian cyst. I don’t have PCOS. I had no symptoms until then that I was aware of. I had the cyst removed in January and during the operation the surgeon found old endo scarring.
Over the last few months I’ve had a bit of lower back pain. It has been getting worse but is manageable. It feels like a pinching pain and it’s not constant but comes and goes through the day. I have always had very regular but heavy periods every 26-30 days which lasts for 6 days. Last month I started bleeding on day 15 and this lasted for 12 days. It was fairly light, but was dark brown blood which consistently had lots of clots. I’m now on day 33 and no period.
Wondering if this sounds like it could be endo which has flared up again or another ovarian cyst? I don’t want to phone the gp and waste their time given the current covid crisis if it ends up being nothing.

I had a mid cycle bleed last month and it really upset me. It was dark brown blood too. I spoke to the dr and she said it could be endo but that as long as it didn’t happen again I shouldn’t worry too much about it.
Thankfully it hasn’t happened this month.
In Nicole Jardims book “fix your period” she says most of her patients with endo experience mid cycle bleeding. And one patient said they regularly had a “second period” every month due to stress.
I guess the annoying thing is I can’t find out why the mid cycle bleeding happens or how we can prevent it! So that’s frustrating. Just know you aren’t alone. you could speak to a specialist about this as they hopefully will have an explanation. I’ve chosen to not speak to a specialist until my next endo review at the end of this year 😊 mainly because I didn’t bleed again this month so I’m hoping it was a one off.
Thank you for replying. I was never referred to a specialist and I didn’t receive a post op follow up, just was told after the operation that there was some old endo scarring, whatever that means. I think I will wait it out another week or so and phone my GP xx
