I am in the stages of finally being diagnosed after having excruciating pain and horrendous periods causing me to be on the pill from 11 years old! I was due to have surgery in April however was cancelled due to COVID and I have not heard anything since. I’m finding the pain just keeps getting worse and is sometimes unbearable closer to my period leaving me in bed for days! I try paracetamol, ibuprofen and codeine but nothing’s touching it. Got water bottles are also slightly giving relief but not much!and it’s all predominantly right sided.. Does anyone have any tips in managing endometriosis? As I’m still relatively new to adjusting to it! I don’t want to pester the hospital as I understand they’re all under pressure at the moment with everything!
Thanks!

You do need to try and get it under control, which isn’t easy, and I’ve been struggling today. Speak to GP or gynaecologist and see what they can suggest.
I wouldn’t worry about disturbing them, they are working and providing a service.
You may have seen my post today, spoke to pain clinic nurse and she’s suggested Tramadol, it works differently to codeine. When I mentioned GP had prescribed it in the past but I hadn’t used it, she said it doesn’t really work for endo.
Okay! I might have to try that then, see if they can prescribe it for when it gets unbearable! Had a phone call today from a private hospital, saying that my normal NHS consultant has referred me to the private one for my operation due to nearly breaching the wait time. So hopefully will get somewhere with that! Thank you for your help! And good luck with the tramadol I hope it helps you!
I completely empathise with you! My pain is mainly right sided as well (the main pain is) and also worse around my period and ovulation. Mine is apparently due to ovarian cysts - do you know if you have these as well? They can be triggered by endometriosis, due to hormones.
My pain killers do not touch the pain either, hot water bottles like you ease it slightly but not much.
I have recently bought a tens machine called ova+ and I’d definitely suggest you have a look into these, mine is helpful as it blocks the pain receptors using tiny electro-vibrations and unlike hot water bottles, it doesn’t damage your skin. The ova+ is designed to treat period pain and secondary period pain like endometriosis. I hope this helps, good luck x
Don’t forget COVID doesn’t cancel out all the other illnesses. I have still received a service from gynae through this- those consultants are at home so they can call you xx
