Hi,
I’m just wondering if anyone else has had ivf treatment and just wondering I might be wrong but I’m sure you have to have hormone injection to help the eggs, did this not make your endo worse?
Thanks

Hi 👋
You have stimulated injections to make your follicles produce more eggs in order to collect multiple eggs to fertilise.
I found my endo was not effected during stims or egg collection. Each person with endo is different with ivf it depends on where the endo is and what stage it is. xxxx
Hi,
I didn’t find this made my endo worse but I did find it uncomfortable and was bloated purely due to producing more follicles. No pain though, more like how you would feel after eating a big meal.
Once they did the egg retrieval I wasn’t as bloated anymore
I went through IVF that failed It made my endo worse and now they went me to hav another surgery less than one year of jus going through endo surgery
The injection in the IVF protocol intended to prevent premature ovulation definitely counteracted the effect of the stimulation for me and reduced my endo symptoms for that cycle. So I had fewer endo symptoms during the IVF cycle than I would in a usual natural menstrual cycle and I loved IVF. But everyone’s body is different.
Just to clarify, I had a huge problem with bloating from endo / “endo belly”, to the point where I have an entire bloat wardrobe, and lots of pain around ovulation. So for my bloating to be much better I was probably still more bloated during IVF than some people ever get, but it was an improvement for me.
Hi
The stims meds did make my endo worse, I had a lot more pain in the month after my failed cycle but it was temporary, and after a few months I felt back it was back to the same level. Unfortunately it’s just one of those things that comes with the treatment
It made my endo worse and according to the doctors it’s affecting the eggs that I am producing hence the infertility.
Currently on my 3.5 round after failed rounds and I have been eating better an taken supplements for inflammation so praying for success.
Thanks
Xx
It was through IVF that I realised I had endo my first cycle on the down reg injections was amazing no pain so when my period stated back up after a negative I then knew it wasn't natural to be that bad.
First cycle after a.negative can be rough.
Hello there, although I cannot definitely blame IVF (there is a lot of debate amongst my various consultants) for all my current health issues all I can say is post one cycle of mild IVF treatment, I did land up with thoracic endo including two collapsed lungs, a damaged lung and diaphragm. Before IVF treatment I was like any other severe endo patient (i.e. endo in my pelvic area). Now I have become a special and rare case. There is no harm in checking with your gynecologist if IVF can trigger extra pelvic endo in your case. I hope this helps and good luck with the IVF treatment if you choose to have it.
