Diagnosing Endo with MRI instead of laparoscopy

Just wanted to share that endometriosis can be diagnosed with MRI. And if you have endometriosis cysts they can be seen during ultrasounds. Surgery is not mandatory to diagnose endometriosis. However, MRI is expensive and usually doctors don’t want to refer you to an MRI. Plus if you want to clean up the mess down there then the laparoscopy will diagnose and clean up endo. Bu if you are not keen on surgery then MRI is an option.

In my case I was only diagnosed because of the endometriosis cysts after over a decade complaining about horrible period pain. And now because I said no to surgery I was referred to fertility. The fertility doctor then requested and MRI. The gynaecologist could not put me at ease about my fertility health after removing the cysts and laparoscopy, which is why I was referred to a fertility specialist.
