Hello everyone- it's my birthday today and I wish I could say I was celebrating but I am far too anxious! I have an appointment tomorrow to see whether it will be possible to freeze some eggs on my ovary with a smaller endometrioma (the other side is so large they don't think it will respond) pre operatively, as of course any ovarian surgery reduces your AMH. This will depend on many factors of course. I just wondered whether anyone has gone through the egg collection side of IVF with endometrioma in place?

No experience, but Happy Birthday and hope all goes well for you.
I've done IVF. Had a 5cm endometrioma on one side when I started the process and had already had surgery 6 months previously to remove an endometrioma from each ovary. We got 16 eggs in total, fairly evenly spread across both ovaries. Currently 33 weeks pregnant with an embryo folllowing that egg collection. I hope you get the result you're hoping for and happy birthday!
I cant give you any advice on egg freezing but Happy birthday!🎂 Hope it all works out for you 💕
Hi
Just so you have hope- it is possible. I had 5 endometriomas when I had first cycle and they collected too many eggs. Unfortunately the cycle didn’t work.
Then I had them drained, an unsuccessful frozen cycle, followed 6 months later by a successful ivf pregnancy. That was in 2009.
I then defied medics and went on to have three more natural pregnancies in quick succession to keep the endo at bay. ( I still suffered as soon as I stopped breastfeeding). Now I’m a
proud mother of four beautiful girls.
The endo never went away and came back aggressively after no 4. I had a laparoscopy in 2017 followed by a full hysterectomy and vowel resection aged 42 in November 2018, following which, I have never looked back.
Wishing you the best of luck with it all.
Xx
