Well as it says I have to wait for the Coronavirus to even put the referral through even though I waited 8 weeks for g.p before the Coronavirus outbreak .I’m worried that my g.p is fobbing me off not so much I have to wait but she said no appointment will be available which I know I understand that but after previous phone call I’m worried she just Dosent know what she’s doing those who follow me know.she says now it’s put on hold I don’t understand I know nhs have got things to do other than me guess I’ve waited so long I can wait some more and I have to think positive I’m managing my pain at the minute which is a blessing I know a lot of people have severe pain I’ve got it under control now except a few little things.but it’s my g.p I just feel like she Dosent know what she’s doing

That doesn’t sound helpful I’m sorry. It’s awful how women’s issues are swept aside 🙄 I would speak to another GP to push the referral through & explain how long you’ve waited. Yes it will be on hold until COVID19 is over but at least you’ll be in the system. I was referred for physio & it’s on hold but will be on the list waiting. Which is better than waiting for referral after COVID19 then wait 😳 Good Luck xxx

Exactly she called me the other day saying she can’t do the referral and it’s not going through I just think she Dosent seem to know what she’s doing I will be waiting ages I think I might write them a letter cause I’m lost for words every time she calls and I can’t get how upset I am out

I think you should explain how it is making you feel & how long you’ve waited it’s not good enough. There must be a liaison between patients & drs. I understand the gps are stressed with COVID19 but you asked for a referral 8 weeks ago it should’ve been done. If it was any other issue it would be taken more seriously but gynae issues are often over looked ☹️ let other half read the letter that’s what I do make sure it’s to the point without being offensive but get your point across 👍 xxx

just to say i understand and feel your pain. different scenario but my ivf referral sat with them well prior to covid for 8 whole weeks as nobody realised it was there. then just as i was about to be seen, covid hit. I know in the long run this wouldn’t have made much difference either way, but so so frustrating when you’ve gone to seek help prior to covid

It’s so annoying I’m more annoyed cause she keeps saying it won’t go through then said I will have to wait longer I’ve already waited a year to get answers x

So sorry you’re going through this. Can you speak to a different GP.

Great you are managing the pain, but it’s the waiting that’s a killer as well.

I really hope you get it sorted, I understand some delays with the NHS, but not others.

It’s the secretary what’s dealing with it who keeps calling lost of what to do

Hey lovely,

I think this is NHS wide. Mine wouldn't even refer me to the pain clinic, same reason. Hang in there and maybe keep checking with reception every few weeks?

It’s not that though lovely I was waiting for my referral before the outbreak 8 weeks ago she’s now using it as an excuse x

Well even so, seeing someone else now won't get you any further because they can't refer. Once they re open referralss see another doctor.

I suffer from bowel blockages as a result of my endo. My surgeon told me when it happens again, I have to go to the hospital immediately, that it is quite serious. Don't wait, just come straight. It happened again, mid-corona, and I called the hospital and they fobbed me off. Got my gp to call, she eventually, after much persistence got to talk to a surgeon (not mine), and he said that I was not to come to hospital unless it was to save my life in that moment. I have to wait at least 6 weeks and am managing as best I can. Went for a private ultrasound just to make sure there was nothing putting me in immediate danger and now have to wait it out.

I imagine your doctor has been told not to refer anything. She is not ignoring you. Their hands are tied, they are as frustrated as you are. Sorry that it's such a sh#t time to be unwell. I could (and do) cry at the frustration.

Thanks for your response however The point is I put the referral in 8 week before the Coronavirus hit it should have been put in. Before all this so sorry you are suffering x

I know it bad, but I do work for the NHS, but in a different department cardiology nurse specialist, we have stopped all referrals coming in as they are sent through electronically. We are not doing any clinics (even face to face or telephone clinics) as everyone is getting redeployed, even the consultants are getting redeployed and are working on the wards and are doing shift patterns. So even if you did go to a different GP to do a referral in they may say exactly the same thing. Sorry that you feel that you are getting fobbed off.

Hiya thanks for response the point I was trying to make is I put the referral in 8 week before the outbreak of Coronavirus but thanks for giving me your perspective as a professional she phoned me before saying she couldn’t do it and didn’t know why she couldn’t then phoned again but bear in mind I had it put in 8 week before Coronavirus.thankyou for doing your bit as nhs staff x

Hi Bexsj. Just responding to say you’re doing a great job at the moment!! I work in finance within the NHS and even we are feeling the pressures so I dread to think how it is for you frontline staff x

Update :I sent my g.p an email and the team leader at my practice called me and said I will not be starting my referral from the beginning she thought my referral had been dealt with but the secretary hadn’t put it through and didn’t even tell her this so the manager will be keeping a close eye when things go back to normal that my referral goes through she said she’s more than happy to refer me over
