I have private insurance and need a specialist appointment. I've tried five different specialists off the providers recognised professionals list. I was unable to book with any of them. Two practising in complete different locations, two no longer practising at clinic, 1 only taking appointments through NHS with couple months waiting list.
I asked for help from the provider, but was told me they can't advise and I need to select a specialist from their list. But the list is completely outdated and wrong. This looks like fraud. They don't update the lists so it looks like they have lots of professionals in a certain area, when they don't.

Look up consultants at the local hospital, normally gives a bit of info about them, then a general search for the best one. Chances are they have their own web site with contact info, etc. You’d probably have to contact the Insurance company to confirm, speak to a manager about their list as well.
I found this helped in making decisions. I was paying, but it still took a couple of weeks for initial appointment, but worth it. Good luck
Thats terrible my insurance cover most but some I may have to contribute to their costs if they're not completely covered, in other words the v expensive specialists lol but so far that hasn't even happened. I hope you get it sorted.
I was private and got an appointment stating away and had surgery within 3 months I’m in Sheffield and I was at Claremont and my dr is dr Niki Baxter she was great and works alongside her husband who is a fantastic surgeon at Thornbury bmi they are bupa approved every case is different but they where amazing with mine hope this can help!
I agee with the above. Look at the websites of the nearest hospitals to you and go through the consultant lists to find one with suitable experience. I also looked at the nearest BSGE centres for names of consultants there to see where they had a private clinic. I was lucky to get an appoint within 3 days and had a diagnostic lap and excision two weeks later! Good luck! X
