I had the same - I had a tennis ball sized cyst on my left ovary. They did an excision surgery for that, and diagnosed my with endometriosis.

I had never ever heard of it, until a routine 20 minute cyst removal op became a nearly 3 hour endometriosis excision op. I was told post surgery I had endo, with no influence on the condition. And was released from hospital. I had to do a lot of research myself and could then ask all the questions at my post op appointment 2 weeks later.

It is very frustrating. The first op was 4 and a half years ago. Had a second op December 2018. I had a lot more information since, with numerous different treatments from my specialist.

But unfortunately, because of all the hormone imbalance, I still find myself crying and upset/angry for no good reason. That is all normal. I have began to accept that now - luckily my husband and family/friends have come to understand it too
