Prostap injections

I have been on prostap injections for 3 months which helped my pain and over all health significantly.

They have no worn off (I think) and I due to have another appointment with my consultant on the 15th

I’m really nervous what he will say next, as reducing my hormones has seemed to help.

I would love to talk to someone who has been in my position

Hi, I'm glad to hear you have found they have helped with the pain. I had my 5th injection on Friday. I was debating whether or not to go ahead with the 5th due to side effects I've been experiencing , I'm also on HRT patches. I decided to go ahead as they too have helped with the pain which was awful and disrupted my life so significantly. I hope they are continuing to reduce the Endemetrosis. Have you had any surgery ? It's,a good idea to speak with your consultant and see if they have a plan intended. I know some ladies can take the injection for up to a year i believe, they take yr health and side effects into account. Let me know how u go. 🌈

Well I had a laparoscopy April 2018 which showed nothing according to my general gynae.

Now I am seeing an endometriosis specialist and he think it was possibly missed on my first laparoscopy.

So he put me on these injections to give him another indicator towards it being endometriosis.

I THINK the next step will be another surgery before he will be happy to let me carry on with the injections but I’m not entirely sure

It's such a worry and unfair I've been putting up with the side effects as I'm fearful of the pain returning. My joints have really stiffened up also, I'm trying to keep as active as possible to give every thing the best chance. I truly don't want any further surgery due to complications I faced afterwards I'm still recovering almost 4months down the line. I hope u can discuss things through with yr gyngegolgist they can help u with best way forward. I feel we are left to it, everybody seems correspond differently. I've tried to research all I can. I don't know any one personally who's been through this, it's been scary. It took me a while to find the courage to cone on here, hope we can all help each other. 🧚‍♀️
