Success stories?

Pinkyandthebrain profile image

Is there anyone out there who’s had/has endometriosis and been able to get pregnant?I’m currently trying for a baby and my gp has advised me that there shouldn’t be a problem but I just having a nagging feeling that my endo will get in the way. I’m trying to stay positive but google is not my friend 😂

I plan on doing a longer post in the future about my own ‘success story’ because I’ve come to a place in my life where I’m actually coping with my illness but just hoping for some hope about becoming pregnant :)

If you’re reading this then I hope your Christmas will be as pain free as possible x

Not for me unfortunately, but I'm not giving up! Currently having IVF but also still trying to conceive naturally. Many women however do get pregnant with endo, I'm just one of the unlucky ones lol I'm sure you will be absolutely fine! Check out endometriosis UK they have honest figures on there. Best of luck, I'm sure it will be fine 💫♥️

Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻

Wishing you so much luck with your ivf journey; my friend had a tough time with two rounds of ivf and now has the most delightful 6 month old daughter.

Hang in there xx

We're not trying or preventing - just doing things whenever we feel like it (the usual!) and seeing what nature does. The way things have been for millions of years! if you get what I mean :)

We're just going to see what happens and in the mean time my specialist says I'm all okay, but my hubby says it can't hurt to get himself checked - after all we're not the only ones whom could have something wrong. A good thought and something worth considering when looking at this as there's two people involved!

xx

Thanks for your reply! Will your husband just be going to the gp to be checked or are there specialists you can contact?

Best of luck to you xx

There are fertility centers which can do the checks, as they'll take semen samples, bloods etc. They're often private but we're okay paying as it'll all help.

I personally know 4 women who had stage 4 deep-infiltrating endometriosis and got pregnant naturally after complete excision. In all cases at least one tube was saved obviously. I strongly recommend you turn to an experienced and very skilled EXCISION surgeon to discuss surgery if you've been trying for over 6 months. Also look into dietary and lifestyle changes and take prenatal and endometriosis supplements (cannot recommend brands on this forum, you can email me at s.dellarovere@live.it if you want suggestions).

Best of luck!

I am currently 24 weeks pregnant and have stage 3 endometriosis and was told our chances were likely not great to conceive naturally. I had a lap last April, and came off the minera coil in June this year (and conceived in July!) So it is possible :)

Another of my friends also recently conceived after a lap with worse endo than me.

It's not an easy path trying to have a child when you have endo... and potentially and may not always happen the traditional route, but after the news our chances weren't great i spent a long time thinking about what I really wanted, which was a family. Whether that was through natural means, IVF or adoption and I think knowing that one way or another a family was in my future, that allowed me to relax and helped my mental health to repair and improve.

I did spend a lot of time in the year before we conceived focussing on exercise, diet and supplements so that could have helped us conceive naturally ? It certainly did help with my endo symptoms that were still quite painful after the lap frustratingly.

I wish you well in your journey :) xxx

Wow what lovely news, thank you for sharing! And great advice re diet and supplements etc; when you say exercise, were there any specific things you were doing or was it just general fitness?

Absolute best of luck to you in the rest of your pregnancy xxx

Thanks :) all good so far 🤞🤞So I was doing 1-2 HIIT sessions a week, and 1-2 weights sessions at the gym? And generally eating an endo diet with turmeric w/ black pepper supplement. Both my partner and I also took the his/hers pregnacare tablets 3 months before starting to conceive as well. Again no idea if it worked, but it did definitely help my endo symptoms so I imagine meant less growing back of tissue after my lap? I had a lot of endometreomas on my ovaries that were removed and on my ultrasounds when pregnant no new ones were showing up which I thought was a good sign!

Good luck :)
