Swollen glands: Does anyone else have... - Endometriosis UK
Swollen glands
I’ve got small swollen glands in my groin not huge but you can definitely feel them. No pain or anything from them. How about you?
Everything comes back as normal in my tests too! Doctors aren’t worried about them don’t know whether they are related or not...
I did under my arm but that was a few years ago and I didn't know it was endo then... I started to drink more water (I wasn't drinking 2 liters a day then) and I haven't had them since? Weird, but there you have it.
Have you ever had an Ultrasound scan of your Thyroid? Probably not. Ask GP to send you for one of you think applicable?
Any throat problems - occassional difficulty with swallowing, lumpiness, tenderness?
'Sometimes throb a little ' have you mentioned this to your GP?
Have you ever had other symptoms of an Underactive Thyroid, particularly following a cold, sore throat or any infection?
Look on the Thyroid UK website and search 'symptoms of an Underactive Thyroid ' .
Take your temperature first thing in the morning and record any that are low.
Low temperature is a symptom of Hypothyroidism.
There is a link as women with Endo have an increased risk of certain other disease including Hypothyroidism.
Hi
I had my drs appt and he suggested a blood test for thyroid amongst other things so we shall see. He did say he’s not sure how much of my symptoms are physical and how much are in my head and prescribed me apps called calm and headspace!! Yes I am stressed with it all but the pain is real. He kept asking me if I am a vegetarian which I am not! x
Blood tests need to include :
TPO Ab
TgAb
FreeT3
FreeT4
T4
TSH
Sadly, many doctors only test TSH & T4.
Definitely ask for Thyroid Antibodies and FreeT3.
Test needs to be early morning and fast, drink water only. So get the earliest appoinment possible.
Preferable to have the following nutrients levels tested also so ask your GP for these too:
Vitamin D
B12
Folate
and Ferritin
You could have Vitamin D deficiency or insufficiency which would need addressing with prescribed Colecalciferol (Vitamin D 3).
Read through some posts on Thyroid forum sometime.
Never thought of that. It was scanned with the swollen gland but that was around 2 years ago. Some symptoms do add up apart from the weight gain. I find it hard to put weight on. Not a big appetite. Thanks will look into this.
Hi, I also get swollen glands in my neck. My doctor said my body is fighting hard to repair its self and I get run down. X
That’s what I thought it could be. Have made a drs appt for tomorrow so will see what they come up with. x
No.. however I do experience pain in my right wrist and shoulder (same side as all my pelvic oain!) when the pain flares up? Bizarre to say the least! Xx
