Anyone had zoladex and hrt

Was wondering if anyone here has had zoladex and hrt? What are the side effects?

They want to start getting me ready for surgery to remove ovaries, womb

Yes I had it for 2 years with HRT. I felt tired some days. I had some weight gain but I also was off work at the time so how much was attributed to that I don’t know but I did feel better without the bleeding and pain so it was worth it. Can I ask why you are having your ovaries womb removed? Is it by your choice or their recommendation?

Their recommendation as it keeps coming back severely

I suppose I just worry that that recommendation is given out too freely without investigating all the options. If you are happy with it that’s different but ensure they’ve exhausted all options if you’re not.

Hello I had it for 6 months but came off the HRT because it brought my symptoms back. I had got flushes, night sweats and weight gain. They did make my endo symptoms go away though. Unfortunately the symptoms came back within a month of the injections stopping. My doctor has also recommended a hysterectomy as a next step. I’ve got a meeting with him and another surgeon in a couple of week so I’m going to push for excision surgery as the NICE clinical guidelines says that should be tried before hysterectomy xx

Hey, I'm on Zoldex and hrt at the moment while I wait for surgery.

I suffer from hot flushes, I've put on weight, and when I'm due my injection the few days before I'm emotional and anything can and will make me cry.

Good things, no period since I started, I get the odd stabbing pain by my ovaries but compared to how I was before, it's nothing

The only thing it will effect everyone differently, so you may get other systems.

I’m really worried about gaining weight it has taken me a while to loose my baby weight and I am training hard at the moment

I had it in total for a year. It took about 3/4 months for bleeding to completely stop also pain to ease. I always could tell when I was due one but also felt rough for 2/3 days after. I still got some pain but much easier to manage. I definitely put on about a stone, I’m now much hotter and get sweats easy. Mood wise I think I was more stable but I’m on an antidepressant anyway which my Gp won’t stop due to all the hormonal changes.

I’m due hysterectomy, bowel resection and ovary removal in 2 weeks. This is because I have a frozen pelvis and bowel stuck to bits. I get a lot of pain from my lower bowel so consultant trying to sort it out and I felt so much better on zoladex that it’s best choice.

The only symptom that actually effected me what hot flushes. I gained some weight to, I was always thin before this. I was 22 when I started it. I was told it’s a high does, so more effective/harsher than the natural menopause. Happy to be off it now

I have just finished my first month of zoladex and HRT. I found the first 2 weeks pretty tough but now all good. I have been getting quite a lot of headaches and do feel tired but in comparison to my periods it’s manageable. I have had very sensitive teeth weirdly, never had any problems before. Hopefully onwards and upwards.
