Hi has anyone tried acupuncture for endo pains?
Acupuncture : Hi has anyone tried... - Endometriosis UK
Acupuncture
Me! I tried it a few times and my acupuncture therapist who had 20 years experience said she had never treated anyone with such a high pain threshold and that I didn’t react like her other patients. She actually told me I was “weird”.....I’ve heard it can be very effective and I would give it a go if I were you. I may give it another go, but it’s not a quick fix, my lady said I would need to be in it “for the long run”. Hope that helps?
I am currently having acupuncture for Endo. It is a long-term thing. I started treatment in February. But my symptoms have improved considerably. My acupuncturist also has me on very carefully selected Chinese medicinal herbs.
I still get cramps but only very rarely and they pass off much more quickly; although periods are still heavy at first, I no longer get clotting. I no longer feel heavy and uncomfortable around my abdomen from ovulation onwards, and I'm a lot less tired.
I carefully looked for an acupuncturist with a track record in gynae and spoke to her at length before my first visit. It may not work for all but I think it is worth considering. I had been on the Mirena and Provera and they just made things worse for me.
NHS gynae were happy with me trying this and would take me back on if I asked my GP to arrange that.
Best wishes, I hope you get some improvement, however that is achieved.
