Acupuncture for endo?

Anyone ever try acupuncture for endo pain and nausea? I just saw a different specialist who recommended it but from what I can tell it’s expensive so don’t want to shell out if it doesn’t work. Would really appreciate any insights x

Hi, I've been having acupuncture treatment for my endometriosis pain for about six months and now and it's honestly made a massive difference. I've only had one bad flare up in that time when before it was much more frequent, and my period pain is so much more bearable (I used to pass out every month from the pain but that hardly ever happens now). I do still get pain, but I'd definitely recommend acupuncture as making a big difference. I'd also say it definitely takes a few treatments before you really notice a difference. Hope that's helpful :)

I had acupuncture for my pain before I was diagnosed with endometriosis. I also have pcos so my aims with acupuncture were to regulate my periods, reduce pain and also to help with chronic whiplash symptoms from a car crash I had 11 years ago. I can honestly and whole heartedly tell you it helped a lot with all of the above. I got 6 treatments in 6 weeks then had 1 per month follow up. Only after I stopped all together did my menstrual pain slowly return.

Ironically regular monthly periods for the first time ever at the age of 28 were how I realised I had another issue and followed up with endometriosis. I haven't found a good acupuncturist since I was diagnosed last year but I would 100% recommend trying it.

It's not at all painful and it's super relaxing. I usually fell asleep once he left the room. He would put a heat lamp over me and spa music and leave me for 20 mins

I loved it for anxiety and stress too.

Glad to hear there is such positive feedback surrounding this as this is something I am wanting to try too. Just a shame it’s so pricey x

Do you have a university near you?

The reason why im asking is that one of the universities in London teaches Acupuncture. Thus they have a clinic at a reduced price which is where you have final year students plus a supervisor.

If not if you wait a little while somebody may know of somewhere local.

Check with the local health authorities if any of the hospitals run an acupuncture clinic.

Check on google and ask on your loca nextdoor website for recommendations.

Sorry Im going through a flare up and passed out.
