Hello, I was diagnosed with endometriosis over 20 years ago and had laser surgery to remove what they could and had my cervix quarterized. I've had 2 children and symptoms were manageable for a while. However over the last year things have been bad, daily pain and bleeding. I've had scans and been diagnosed with cervical cysts, fibroids and adenomyosis in addition to the endometriosis. Over the last yr we've tried managing with all the usual diet, lifestyle, pain relief stuff and different pills. The doctor said my scars from my c sections are too bad to offer any surgical treatment, unless I went for a hysterectomy. They have suggested trying the coil and if that doesn't work then a hysterectomy. I just wanted some advice/ experience from anyone that has tried the coil, or any other ways of managing it. As I've now got 4 things wrong I dont know which is causing the pain and bleeding. I dont think I'm ready for a hysterectomy yet but would welcome any advice and experience on that too. Thank you.

Hi hunny. I had the coil fitted in December, but had 2 have it removed 3months later as it didn't agree with me. I bled for 98 days straight & it actually made the pain worse (which i didn't think possible!) My friend had it fitted in March though & it seems to be helping! It effects people differently. I would say at least try it as you don't have anything to lose! Hope this helps; i'll keep my fingers crossed for you! xx
