I had the coil fitted to try and suppress my periods to prolong my endometriosis returning as quickly after my surgery in October 2018. I had the coil in approximately 4 months when I began having horrendous pains in my hips and I started experiencing pins and needles in the tops of my legs. I had the coil removed not long after experiencing these symptoms and now have the implant which seems to be going a lot better than the coil. It wasn’t for me!
Sadly I was similar - I hated it. I was constantly feeling sick, bloated & pain, weight gain, dizzy and moody! I managed about 6 months & saw my consultant who took it out.
I was diagnosed with endo back in October 2018 and they fitted the Mirena coil, my first 6-7 months were awful, I was getting everything you are now..I even went to my GP to have it taken out after 3 months, she convinced me to stick with it and if after 6 months things didn't look better, they would take it out. I noticed when it got to about 7 months that things started changing, I wasn't getting as much pain as I normally was..I still get pain but its not a constant pain now, more comes and goes..Also my periods became wayyy lighter and shorter than normal, and have completely stopped now (Sorry for the TMI)
I say stick with it, and if after a year nothing as changed, have it taken out, I'm soo glad I stuck with mine..
