Hi, I’m feeling really lost at the moment and need some help as to what to do next.
I’ve been in constant pain since January(ish) got out on an NHS waiting list which was super long and was fortunate enough to be able to get a lap done privately end on May.
I’m still in pain.
The last few days it’s gone back to just as bad as it was pre surgery - swollen pelvis constantly, lots of cramps, stabbing pains, back twinges, tingly legs. I tried to see my GP yesterday but they wouldn’t see me. They said it’s just the Endo and they couldn’t do anything.
I’m getting gabapentin on Friday to help with the pain and then I’m supposed to be having the coil inserted in a couple of weeks (although I’m really not convinced I want to) I just feel like I now have nowhere to turn.
TMI I’m sure but like I can’t even have intercourse with my husband and I’m a newly wed so yano...
My mental health is suffering a lot and I just feel completely lost.
If anyone has any suggestions, info of the above and also “reviews” of the coil I’d really appreciate it xx

I'm so sorry your going through a lot mentally and physically espesh after surgery. I personally still waiting for surgery since last September and now been told I am stage 4. I referred myself to bsge centre and so far my pain has been managed. I have been admitted 9 times since september with pelvis pain and limping leg. Now that i referred myself to a bsge centre and discharged myself from a gynaecology specialist my pain has been managed. I havent had a flare up since april.
I am yet to have surgery end of the month. But these specialist bsge centres really know what they are talking about and dealing with. They dont fob you off like the gynaecology department stating its endo pain and deal with it.
They and get yourself on to a bsge centre nearer to home so it's easy for you and your partner to visit etc. But dont get the coil until you have sorted this pain. I know how it can feel being lost I felt like this last yr and gone through a lot mentally and emotionally. But I am bow stronger.
But after surgery I dont think you should be in that much pain, as they would have taken away the endo out of you. Do follow up the results with a bsge centre that's the only way you would know what's best and if fitting a coil is the right thing also with a bsge centre they also treat for fertility treatment etc and if your having issues with having intercourse that definitely should be spoken about with your specialist because they can support you there.
So sorry to hear what you are going through. If you do need anyone to talk to you can ring our helpline, All information is as follows: endometriosis-uk.org/helpline
