Severe fatigue
You’re not alone! I haven’t implemented any specific meal plan yet, but I do know that I feel much worse when I eat sugar, red meats, breads, processed foods, alcohol and caffeine. So I am trying an anti inflammatory diet for the moment which I’m hoping will improve my symptoms. I hope this was a little helpful
Thank you for your reply. I have noticed also that excess sugar makes me feel worse however I crave it during my period ! I am going to try cutting down on those trigger foods too and see how I get on. Fingers crossed!
I totally get that, haha as I write this I’m sitting next to a bag of chocolates I’ve been eating the last hour. It’s much easier if you cut sugar out for a few weeks, I’ve found that after that period of time I don’t crave it anymore. Clearly I have fallen off the wagon 😂. Best of luck conquering your chocolate demons, you got this!
Hey! Fatigue's a biggy for me too. I find when I stick to the Primal Blueprint way of eating it helps a lot. I have behaved myself this week haha so if you'd like me to post my meal plan let me know and I'll do it. Xx
That would be great thank you! Need something to get my energy up. Xx
Right, so:
Breakfast is the same every day, Greek yoghurt with blueberries/banana/kiwi or a combination, usually with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top and 2 eggs either scrambled in butter or fried in coconut oil. (I've been a bit disorganised this week but I'd usually hard boil a load and keep them in the fridge for the week)
If I don't have a banana in breakfast I might have one as a snack in the day.
Lunch has also been pretty much the same all week, chicken salad made with cooked chicken (I roast one at the start of the week), sliced red grapes (sounds weird but it's good), and a little spring onion, mixed with homemade mayo. The recipe I use includes chopped apple but apple doesn't agree with me so I just leave it out. I serve it over different stuff to mix it up a bit in the week, so lambs lettuce and avocado one day, I added fennel another day etc.
Dinners have been as follows:
Steak salad served with roasted broccoli (made up as I went along, but included avocado, lambs lettuce, little gem, sun dried tomatoes, spring onion, tomatoes, basil, mayonnaise mixed with chives and garlic and I used one decent sized steak to serve 2 of us.)
Thai green chicken curry with cauliflower rice (recipe for the curry from nom nom paleo website)
Cabbage onion and bacon hash topped with a fried egg (one of my own creations, but basically shredded cabbage, chopped onion and bacon seasoned with paprika and salt and pepper and sauteed in coconut oil)
Pollock in tomato sauce served with roasted broccoli (adapted from the poached cod in tomato sauce recipe on nom nom paleo)
Another NNP recipe: Potsticker Stir fry. I'll cook enough to serve 4 so that we can have this for 2 nights
Crab salad served with avocado and greens, made with homemade mayo.
If I've fancied something sweet, I've had a couple of squares of dark chocolate or some fruit and double cream/Greek yogurt
All dairy products are full fat and organic, all meat is organic, except the bacon, but that's from a local farm and I know their ethics, and everything has been prepared from scratch.
Any questions just ask ☺️ xx
Thanks so much for all of the detail! I will definitely be trying some of those dishes! I will let you know how I get on with it! X
No problem my lovely. Please do let me know how you get on! Writing it down has made me realise that I could do with some oily fish in the mix for next week. I also forgot to mention that I make bone broth from the chicken carcass as well and have been having a cup every now and then. And also that I've been adding raw sauerkraut as a condiment every now and then as I'm trying to heal my gut after 2 recent operations and lots of pain meds. Getting back to this way of eating has helped me return to running this week, which I'd kind of given up on.
I really do hope it gives you a boost 🙂
