I’ve had two previous laparoscopies to remove Endometriosis from various places and a large Dermoid Cyst from my right ovary.
A recent ultrasound showed a possible return of the Dermoid Cyst in my right ovary, as well as multiple mini cysts on my left ovary and Adeomyosis in my uterus.
They now believe I have poly-cystic ovaries syndrome and obviously Adeomyosis (as well as Endo previously diagnosed) but I’m not really sure what Adeomyosis is.
What is Adeomyosis, how is it treated and is an ultrasound scan result enough to diagnose it?

Adenomyosis is where the endometrium develops in the muscle of the uterine wall. I was diagnosed with endometriosis early this year via laparoscopy after 10 years. I had a scan last month which confirmed endo, but also confirmed adenomyosis which was not picked up by the lap. The consultant told me that there is no known treatment for this as it is inside the uterine wall. However he recommended going on contraception and hysterectomy which is not a option for me right now as I eventually would love to start a family. Hope this is helpful. Hugs 🤗
Hi I have adenomyosis and it was not picked up via an ultrasound scan, I had an MRI to get a diagnosis. It’s a difficult condition to treat as well as giving lots of symptoms which are hard to live with at times. I have been offered the coil which every medical professional seems to push for but I am against it. I will be getting a endometrial ablation at some point and failing that the consultant said a hysterectomy
Please PM if you need to chat.
BTW I don’t have endometriosis as I got a lap to confirm that but I do have a chocolate cyst.
