I went to see a private consultant to ask about a MRI looking for diaphragmatic endometriosis and she said no way would I have it as I haven't had periods for 5 yrs and only get symptoms from monthly blood flow. I'm still going to go ahead with a MRI as worried something bad might be wrong with me. I have constant pain under my right rib, sometimes gasping for air, trapped wind, lying flat on back in bed is excruciating (can't lie on side as I have had surgery on ears) no pain killer takes it away. I know I have endometriosis in over places as well pelvic area, suspected bowel etc but I have never experienced this before, it use to come and go but the last 3 months it's constant. So fed up of my health right now

Diaphragm endometriosis but without periods anyone?
I’m sorry I’ve got nothing helpful to say as have no experience of this but I just wanted to send you (gentle) hugs and hope you get some answers soon as that sounds terrible xxx
Hi Charts
I think you are doing absolutely the right thing. Any severe pain should be investigated and considering your history if endometreosis it's no wonder that's a concern and a real possibility. I'm keeping everything crossed for you that the cause is something simpler.
I've been on many forums and although the pain of endometrosis reduces without monthly cycles due to the reduction of estrogen which is its food, if it is already present on your organs it can continue to cause pain. I've read on a US medical site that endometreosis creates it's own source of estrogen to feed off, which is a factor in it be so difficult to get rid of.
Chronic pain is exceptionally hard to deal with, I truly hope your current problem is identified swiftly. Good on you for pushing it privately, I know well that cost but long term health is the priority. Xxx
