I’m 45 and after years of looking after/ rescuing other peoples children I finally met someone lovely and want a baby with them when I thought I wasn’t. After going off the pill for the past few months I’ve had awful periods, had an invasive scan and biopsy to be diagnosed with endo. The gynae recommended I have a coil fitted but this is not what I need if I’m running out of time. I’ve been fobbed off a few times before my diagnosis and am worried that I’m not taken seriously due to my age. Can anyone offer advice on treatment options or what questions I need to ask? I’m in despair and I feel so lost. When I finally want something for myself it seems hopeless

Hello

Have you had a laproscopracy, with removal of your endo? This should be done by someone with a specialist interest in endo, atleast in the UK. They should take into account what is more important to you if it's managing symptoms or felt as the treatment pays for these are different.

Yes I'll be honest the fertility side of it I can't speak from experience. But my understanding is by having excision of endometriosis it helps your chances as if some endo is effecting your fertility having it removed should help.
