Hello everyone,
I had my second laparoscopy nearly 8 weeks ago. I already had diagnosed endo, but, four years on from my previous laparoscopy, there was lots more deep endometriotic lesions and also the painful cyst on my left ovary was successfully removed.
Unfortunately, a large blood vessel in my stomach was caught during the procedure and I had a significant internal bleed. This has added a fair bit of time onto my recovery.
Over the last three weeks, the pain around my left ovary has increased gradually and significantly. There had been some tenderness there ever since the op but the general ache noticeably changed to being a sharp, nauseating pain about two weeks post op. A thorough ultrasound scan on Friday revealed a golf ball sized ‘thing’ attached to my left ovary and squished against my uterus. The ultrasound technician said it was likely to be a haemorrhage (basically a blood clot) but did also resemble an endometrioma. Today, my consultant said it’s more likely to be a blood clot (obviously, as the ovary was fully ‘endometeioma free’ only 8 weeks ago) but that it’s odd that my pain is worsening, because generally, post surgical blood clots should gradually dissipate and any associated pain should reduce to nothing. She gave me a number of options and was excellent as ever but I feel sort of disappointed that this nightmare is still ongoing I am now being scheduled to have another laparoscopy to see what’s going on.
Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? I keep hoping I’ll just wake up and it will have resolved but it just keeps getting worse.
Thank you x x
