Spotting on prostap

Hi I've just had my third monthly injection of prostap and I've been spotting on and off since 3 weeks after first injection. Is this normal. It's not heaving and quite a dark colour. I have no pain. Nurse said she will refer me back to doc after next injection if it's still happening and not to worry about it.... but I do

It can take some time for prostap to stop your menstrual cycle. Did you ever have spotting before? I had a period on prostap some time in the first 6 weeks on it, followed by a light period around 28 days later, followed by spotting after another 28 days I think. By the time of the 4th injection, there was nothing for the next 6 months. So it was basically a sign that the hormone blocking effect was becoming more effective after each injection until things stabilised. Does that help?

The nurse's advice sounds good, and a good thing that you've asked about it!

Yes sometimes I did spot. I actually bled for 30 days at one point before they decided to give the injection. I must admits it's so much better than the heavy painful bleeding every month. I've never had a period on it just spotting. Hopefully it will settle down soon. I'm on hrt too so that's helping a lot. Thankyou so much for replying I feel a lot more positive now. X
