Zoladex: 10th month and starting to feel very angry and emotional

Hi ladies,

I'm wondering if any of you have some experiences to share. I'm on Zoladex waiting for an admission date for surgery to remove endo from my bowel. It's taken longer than anticipated to get an admission date and I've been on Zoladex while I've been waiting.

I'm taking HRT (Tibolone) which helps my hot flushes but recently I've noticed my moods are getting worse. I'm angry all of the time and when I notice how angry I am I feel sad and have been close to tears sitting at my desk. Has anyone else had a sudden change to their symptoms after a similar amount of time taking Zoladex?

I wonder if I should ask for a different dosage of HRT to try and dampen the symptoms.

I've already been on to PALS to ask them to chase up my appointment but haven't heard anything back :(

Thanks in advance!

Lynds

Hey there I’m the same I’ve had 13 injections and waiting surgery. I went to gp as I was struggling with mood swings, hair loss and generally feeling out of control. He’s told me to not have any more and finish HRT when they run out. I’m already on an antidepressant so was reluctant to do anything else. I must admit I’m 2 weeks off it now and I haven’t been too bad! Not sure if it’s a coincidence but mood is less severe. I used to get such hatred towards my husband it scared me!

I am scared of when my periods restart - I’m getting weird pains already!!

Thank you for your reply!

Gosh, you've really had it rough! I hope you continue to feel better now that you're off it.

I had a 5 month course a few years back and my periods returned within a couple of months. Sadly my usual pain did too but that's what I expected. I hope you don't suffer too badly.

At least your husband can rest easy now, haha. I think mine is ready to kick me out! Xx

Thanks Lisa,

I had the clam feeling (I'm usually a bit hot tempered so it was similarly odd for me) and I preferred that to this. Everything just seems to frustrate me at the minute.

Good luck with your surgery. I hope everything goes well! :)

Hi Annimay43,

I hope it settles down for you. I didn't start having any bad symptoms (other than hot flushes) until just this last month.
